Adobe have responded to Apple; surprise, surprise, somebody has accused St Steve of hypocrisy and double standards. Clickety[^]

The phrase I saw of Steve moaning at adobe for not having "open" standards was quite funny

Talk about biting the hand that makes your stupid computer worth buying...it was Adobe that gave Apple their early fame for graphics.

I don't see anyone attacking Apple on the merits of their arguments. It seems the best they can do is, "I know you are, but what am I?" and "Look who's calling the kettle black." Whether or not they're accurate attacks makes no difference to any of the points Apple is making.

The actual post from Adobe: http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2010/04/moving_forward.html[^] Allow me to summarize this, removing all of the PR jargon, marketing junk, and politically-correct dialog...

Apple: "We used to like Adobe cause they let us play with their toys, but now we're big and cool and we don't need them anymore. They suck, and we don't want to play with them anymore!" Adobe: "You're mean! We're going to play with Android instead!" Google:  Verizon: :-D AT&T: :((

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

I see it more like: Apple: We used to like adobe, when they weren't jerks that took forever to actually release something. Adobe: Apple sucks, they aren't open. What do you mean neither is flash? It's everywhere...um... what's that over there?

Bottom line is Abobe Flash is extensively used across the internet, from animated menus to video streaming. By excluding Flash from the iPhone, well the device would be only slightly better that WAP. I suppose iPhone will not be supporting Silverlight either. At the end of the day the iPhone is an expensive toy and other than the "bells and whistles" of the iPhone, how is it better than a Blackberry or any other device running Windows Mobile?

On a side note, does anyone know that Youtube work on iPhone or not or any flash based website? I have heard that you can watch youtube videos on iPhone. How does that work? (just out of curiosity. Actually don't have an iPhone and dont know much about it.)
