Forum speak is caaual converstion, not rigorously applied intellectual standards which with two postgraduate degrees I already proved I am cabable of on numerous occasions.
so I therefore respectfully suggest you crawl back un der your rock and continue to play with yourslef in the darkYou say that, but the poor spelling, grammatical solecisms, appalling punctuation and syntactic awkwardness makes me wonder about the quality of any university that would award degrees to people who lack the basic ability to communicate.

What with all the stuff OP said about VS 2010, he/she does seem to be the average customer we're used to seeing in the Q&A forum. I'm looking forward to expecting to seeing OP there soon. :-D Cheers!

You can get the Microsoft Action Pack Dev and Design for £300 + VAT, gives you 3 licences for MSDN including VS2010, plus 10 licences for Office/Win7 and 2 real licences for Server 2008 and SQL. :)

O.K. then the dissertation is written. Representations of prositution in the eighteenth century is ready to be sent of in January for marking. and I'm officially an expert in eighteenth century literature, well I suppose literature in general as even if I failed the masters I have already past the postgraduate. As usual with these things I think it's alright when I read it but fear that it might be a load of nonesensical rubbish when I happen to think about it. So in order to take my mind off it it's time to get my monies worth out of vs 2010 that I finally took the plunge and paid 700 quids for. It's expensive being a hobbiest these days still orders of magnitude cheaper than doing the Masters degree though. The plan at the moment is to learn wpf and finish version 1 of Personal Music Player which should take about a month or so.

Does VS really give you £700 more value than, say, SharpDevelop? Now they got the integrated debugger working over there I haven't really found anything it's missing out on (perhaps some ASP/web related things, I don't use .Net for my hobby websites).
In a word no But at the time the sharpdevelop debugger wasn't up to the job and it was getting in the way of my getting things working so it had to go.

Well, so far as can be gleaned from the message, you're primary an expertise is in "18th Century Prostitution." Not trying to sound like a crab or anything, but at this point, dry skin, bony fingers, and coffins notwithstanding, those women are a tad too old for you. Of course, tastes do vary.

I've been complaining about that for YEARS. The first version of Turbo Pascal I bought was just $29.95 in 1983. Compare that to $1000 for VS2010 today...

The value of money went down 33x in 28 years? So that million I am planning on retiring with will essentially be worth less than $30K? :((
