Why recruiters are the spawn of all evil

I received an email from a recruiter tell me about leveraging web 2.0 tools to pipeline quality talent. How do I explain that I'd rather find an interesting, talented, professional developer whom I like personally and who wishes to do a solid days work for a fair salary while feeling valuable for their contributions?

you cant use sound logic or reasoning with an HR recruiter... i recommend you pick up a "dummies guide to HR lingo" so you can translate your requirements into HR lingo (based on dutch it think) then you must list a series of key technology buzz words that they can string match CVs with.

Fair and Salary rarely go hand in hand.
Need custom software developed? I do custom programming based primarily on MS tools with an emphasis on C# development and consulting. I also do Android Programming as I find it a refreshing break from the MS. "And they, since they Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs" -- Robert Frost

I would tell this person the following: "I'd rather find an interesting, talented, professional developer whom I like personally and who wishes to do a solid days work for a fair salary while feeling valuable for their contributions." Just a thought. ;)

In your case the opposite will be considered as a massive and unprovoked military invasion.

You have no idea how true this is, I was in an interview and I was asked "Tell me about Java." To which I replied "Well, what would you like to know? Coding examples? What I have used Java for? How it is designed to be platform independant? Your question is a bit vague in scope." I got a deer in the headlights look as a reply. Needless to say, I didn't get the job but ended up getting a MUCH better one shortly thereafter. :-D

No, No need to explain anything, just ask him that, what does he mean by 'Web 2.0' ? :)

I would just ask what he suggests using as a fulcrum to make things work with Web 3.0 or 4.0. Then put his tools in his pipeline and see what comes out the other end. Actually I'd tell him I'll keep his tools in mind the next time I need a pipeline engineer.

Professionally thank them for offering their services while at the same time hint that you are not interested in their services and will likely never need their services, and maybe some chance they catch the drift.
