            Five for this. I highly appreciate when a native speaker makes an effort to correct some rough grammatical/idiomatical errors we make.

                        I said cultural not anatomical. Males still have a superior status not just in India but that region in general.

                          Unfortunately in India, it's quite common to see people being happy about boy births and sad about girls.
