Her only irrational way of getting his attention, probably the man she loved dearly, was to throw the thing she saw seperating them over the balcony. If she threw a vase, or threw a tantrum right in front of him, he probably would not have recieved the message. Sure, she should have just dumped the idiot and walked out of his life. But that is tough when you love someone so badly that you will do almost anything to make it work.
