Speaking of serving different pages to different browsers, I've never seen this one before. I wonder which of the pages that get served up has a greater hit count. I bet his supporters might like to know. ;P Chris Meech "what makes CP different is the people and sense of community, things people will only discover if they join up and join in." It made me laugh! Even though it is not a serious site. I use Opera because I prefer it over IE. In a serious vein a site should be accesable to the majority of browsers out there, perhaps not 100% perfect, like CP on Opera ;)! but it should be accesable. Also there are other operating systems out there beside Windows you know!

It costs money to support different browsers, and if you support only IE, that is a good way to save money - the downside is that less than 5% of visitors may have problems with viewing the site.

Well it serves the intended purpose - it provokes! If this is a mainstream site (I have no clue of its contents because I only have IE at home :)), then I guess it'll be food for thought for their could-have-been visitors. Personally I really don't like these tactics. They should have put a banner or something on the site with a message and a link to a page which communicates their message. But I have to admit that I understand why they're doing this. That MSN/Opera thing is an equally bad thing. Maybe even worse! The plan behind the MSN/Opera thing is to put Opera into a bad position by tricking the visitor. Yes, tricking! Someone posted a link to an article about it here on CP the other day. It showed how Microsoft deliberately switched CSS files for Opera browsers, thus fooling the browser to render the MSN pages badly. Clearly that's foul play! I don't know about you, but I think that's on the edge of being a criminal act. -- "It is amazing how f-ing crazy I really am."

So? Stick to standards, and you should not have any problems (in theory only, unfortunately) My main gripe is with sites like the one mentioned, that tell you to bugger off unless you're running their preferred browser. Sure, tell me that it is optimized for such-and-such browser, but let me at least try with my browser of choice. If I decide that my experience is less than satisfactory, I might consider coming back with another browser.

What language is that page written in? I was able to view the website :P (using the Google cache). There is a term of people like that prejudice against browsers or ignorant (take your pick). -Steven CP Addict

Of course I had to fire up Mozilla just to see what was there...

Det är det enkla som är det svåra. Den rena avskalade formen, det stringenta
men ändå samtidigt lite mystiska och fantasieggande innehållet. Klar kultstatus.
Efter alla flash-program (som börjar bli jävligt uttjatade och kännas jävligt
billiga vid det här laget) så känns detta som en befrielse.

It is Swedish: It is the simple that is the difficult. The pure ... At the end there is a comment of all these "cheap" flash-programs...
