In July, I was on vacation in France, and I came across a board that said "Accès interdit" (Access forbidden) because it was close to a cliff that was collapsing. What was this translated to? To "Speechless access"[^]... :doh:

Nope. Accents on upcase letters are accepted and encouraged by both the Académie Française[^] and the Office de la langue Française du Québec[^]. These is an exception for acronyms.

("vois"-tu l'imbécilité) "voie, voix, vois" (track, voice, see) three different meaning with exactly the same pronunciation Unfortunately, this confirms the decay of French language by phonetically writing!
