Windows 10 now broken

since the last update installation it doesnt boot smooth anymore, but nerving with it shiny new blue screen with the known errors as IRQ_LESS_OR_EQUAL, some ARC_SYSTEM ??? and other stuff. I got to reset the BIOS and boot 3 times and the PC freezes. Such shit I havent experienced since Vista Previews. :mad::mad::mad: Addition: I got the next BSOD with fvevol.sys PS: I run the PC three month with Windows 8 error free, and two month with Windows 10 (no new hardware)

Try removing non-essential Windows 10 and see if the situation improves.

When you switched to Win 10: Did you just do the upgrade or did you follow it up with a clean install? I saw this on my grandson's laptop after the upgrade, but after a clean install it was good.

It run stable for two months. I read that the latest update for Windows 10 is crushing machines. I started with Windows 3.0 - I have seen a lot of BSODs, but really rarely after a Windows Update. :((

You know drivers also get updated from time to time. Have you checked your drivers? Or are you here just to complain?

It is MS, it is a feature. ;P Why are you W10 ? It is common knowledge that is still beta and will be at least until next year. Look, they are still adding features !

I find I'm getting problems when starting up. Yesterday, I started Win10, installed from a purchased copy, and it just froze after I started Windows Mail, Internet Explorer and Calendar. That was the second time in the last couple of weeks. A hard restart was the only way out of it, again. I am also experiencing a long hang occasionally when it is running. It eventually sorts itself out. Before these recent problems, I've had no trouble at all.

It eventually sorts itself out. Before these recent problems, I've had no trouble at all.
I also had the misfortune of falling for the Microsoft hype over how good the new OS was and took up the opportunity to upgrade from my perfectly competant Win7 to Win10 and that's when it all fell apart. Admittedly had I read some of the forums beforehand I might have set up an image of the harddrive before doing it which would have saved my alot of headache. After just one day of use I realised that the OS isn't fit for purpose and all Microsoft are doing is skipping the bulk of the beta test phase by forcing their customer base to act as guinea pigs for their well concieved but poorly executed system. After Win10 stopped recognising my graphics card (NVidia GTX860M) which is compliant and fully updated with Win10, I chose the option of reverting the OS back to Win7 but that just locked up the system leaving it in limbo for 9-days in a half-way house state unable to complete the removal process and equally unable to recover my original OS. I managed to recover the data off the partitioned drive, but had to format the C-drive and start again from scratch (oh for an image of the harddrive) :mad: Two weeks on I'm now struggling to find the drivers neceesary to get my laptop fully operational again and back to where it was before Christmas, as it seems most drivers only go back so far as Win8.1, yet another useless system. Let's hope this goes the same way as their blighted phone range.

Yep! After my initial resistance I have come to like Windows 10. FYI I have a clean install on an SSD with quad core i5 and 4GB ram on a Gigabyte board. So far it has been rock solid. There are one or two items that I used with Win 7 previously that don't work on Win10 but I managed to get round that easily. I may not last forever but the mess I leave behind certainly will.

I am WITH YOU on that. I am still HAPPILY on Windows 7 Pro. No reason to move. And EVERY Time I have to use Windows 10, I still cringe! Although, Right Click on the start menu. ALMOST Useable Again! :-)

got many devices attached to your pc? I doubt it. win10 now requires signed drivers. there are a lot of devices (like my now DEAD midi keyboard) that were distributed before the days of signed drivers and have companies not willing to update the drivers. All those devices are now dead with win10. there's a way to tell win10 to not require signed drivers that you set in the bootup sequence, but it doesn't work on my pc. The "will your pc work with win10" checker said I was good to go. It lied. Also, how many windows updates have you been through? I've been through a lot and about 25% of em have wrecked something. The win10 control panel and start menu behave like they were written in visual basic with an access db :( I kinda think Microsoft just can't do it anymore.

I bought a new Surface 4 Pro a week ago and have exactly that problem, but even before update it to last Win10 Update 1511. So, I think the problem could be a driver, not the OS last update…

Ignore the kneejerk Windows 10 sucks posts that responded to you. They aren't solving your problem. Reboot to safe mode and then turn bitlocker off on all drives. Reboot twice with bitlocker turned off. If your system is good at this point, back up your data and turn bitlocker back on. My guess is something got corrupted in your bitlocker configuration partition that is used to boot the system when bitlocker is turned on.
