Went to the Dutch Chamber of Commerce yesterday to finish my CoC registration and so Juun Software was born! :D I'll be switching to a 32 hour work week for my current employer and spend at least 8 hours a week for my own business. I'm already working on a project (some custom software for a startup), but it's hard next to a 40 hour work week. I've got everything covered financially, so I can just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride :D So remember that name, Juun Software. You'll be seeing it next to Microsoft, Apple, and Google in a couple of years ;p

Congratulations, and break a leg! (Wishing good luck is bad luck :) )

"Juun" is local dialect for the Dutch word "ui", meaning "onion". Of course good software is build up in layers, like an onion. An onion is also a vegetable that is grown locally, just like I'm a local developer. The name in dialect makes it extra local. So, like an onion, the name has multiple layers of meaning (which is kind of a recursive meaning I guess) :-D Also, it's VERY hard to find a name that isn't taken and "Juun" did not exist in the CoC register (not even as a name) :) All my friends that come from the island think the name is pretty funny, other people ask me what "Juun" is  All in all I'm quite happy with the name, it even works pretty well in English (who probably pronounce it a June or some such, giving it a summer vibe) :)

Yeah, I would never have guessed the meaning of your company's name in a million years. Once you get your company website up and running, you may want to put that in your company profile section. ;) Anyhow, I am happy for you. You are young and motivated with lots of ambition. This is a very good time in your life now to strike while the iron is hot, stay focused, and follow your dreams. Cheers, and again, the best of luck to you.

Does it mean that if I pay you 25€ now... I will get 50% of the stock? Give me you bank data and I make you the transfer right now :)

I hope to go to 24/16 in a year or so. The next step would be full time I guess. The benefit of 32/8 is that I don't need any income from my own business at all to pay my bills and so I've got practically 0% (financial) risk.

That's great! Happily my doing 24/16 still puts money in the bank, and extra client work I do on the two days off (and weekends occasionally!) adds extra $$$ to the coffers. :jig:

Good luck - pro tip: make customer relations your #1 priority. Then make it your #2 one as well. Customers will be more forgiving of late delivery, bugs, whatever than they will be of being left in the dark and not communicated honestly with.
