To be fair, Europe is thankful to the british for beating the nazis. However the EU and the UK are better off separately. The EU is finally starting to see that. But indeed the british blaming the EU for their failure to control immigration is BS. It's a freaking island. All they have to do is control passports, which they actually do and ship the illegals back to France.
EU human rights law means we cant even deport illegals.

After March 29th you won't be getting any EU-immigration. The polish plumber will be replaced by an african or indian one. But we have to wait and see it unfolding :)

UK VISA Requirements for Non-EU residents: * CEFR A1 (soon to be A2) in Speaking and Listening, except for majority-English speaking countries (B1 for Indefinite Leave to Remain VISAs) - £160+ for 6-12 minutes! * X-ray proof of not having Tuberculosis * £300/400 per year for IHS (Immigration Health Surcharge) * £350-1523 for a VISA over 6 months (except student/medical) - and £2389 for ILR, which can only normally be accessed after 5/10 years of settlement * ILR VISA also requires "Life in UK" test, at £50 a pop In addition, non-EU residents have to pay council tax, but get none of the benefits (a.k.a. universal credit) - and the IHS covers the "free" NHS. Current UK Entry Requirements for EU residents: * ... And just to add more fun to the mix, until March last year, the ILR VISA was not online, so the payment method required writing sensitive financial data (if not using the thoroughly modern Postal Orders) as part of a paper application (the form itself was 73 pages). I hope you pay your EU taxes, like a good citizen. They are going to be a few billion short when we leave.

Those are obvious advantages. Of course the problems with leaving the EU are: 1) Isolation. (Airbus, etc, lack of economy of scale) 2) Loss of far east companies using the UK as a base for European penetration (Nissan, LG, etc) If we can arrive at a free trade deal with the EU, then the objections are dealt with. This also suits the EU too.

Michael Farrage admitted as much when he stated that the money mentioned on the busses that could be better spent on the NHS, wasd a Lie! The Leave campaign was based on Lies.

The Backstop is the ultimate guarantee that such things will never happen again. The British should never forget: They occupied Ireland by action. Had they not done so 800 years ago, had they not supported the Ulster Unionists in 1922, The Island of Ireland would now be an independent state!

And in any case as we saw last week the Real IRA are planting bombs anyway, even without a hard border, so in fact the state of the border makes no difference at all and the backstop guarantees nothing. You are deluding yourself,. Look at the facts. Look, what ever gripes you have about what happened 800 years ago dont you think it is best to look to the future? That is where we are heading after all.
