Yeh, I think they have always been hoping to be the new Queen... >if they last a decade or two Big "if" IMHO!

O.K. we all know how those records that we loved when we were younger sound like crap now that we've gotten a bit older and slower yet some of them still manage to sound as good today as the day we first heard them. So here's a quick list in no particular order Hanx :- Stiff Little Fingers The Sensual World :- Kate Bush Live Chronicles :- Hawkwind Fresh Fruit For Rotten Vegetables :- Dead Kennedys The Lion And The Cobra :- Sinead O'Conner Surfa Rosa/Come On Pilgrim :- Pixies Violent Femmes :- Violent Femmes So what do you lot think has stood the test of time? The album should probably be around 10 years old or older to qualify pseudonym67 My Articles[^] "We're Living At The Edge Of The World And The Criticisms Coming And It's Dragging Us Down But I Wont Be Shot Down" At The Edge Stiff Little Fingers

OT - How's going the baby? And your sleep? ;)
Dansez sur moi, dansez sur moi, Le soir de mes funerailles Que la vie soit feu d'artifice Et la mort un feu de paille Claude Nougaro (1929-2004)
The baby - Ellie - rocks! The best thing that has happened to me since the day I met my wife! Well, I am actually getting more sleep than I expected - Ellie wakes up 2 or 3 times a night, but is soon off again once fed. Last night she was grumpy though - bad tummy - but I still managed to snatch 5 or 6 hours. I am back at work this week (working at home today though) so it will be a real test! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to continue working from home, but at the moment Ellie seems to sleep more in the day than at night, so I am getting lots of work done... we'll see if this trend continues though - she's less than 2 weeks old and has only been home for 9 days!

>The Works, which contains their worst song of all time That's a difficult one, there's so many to choose from: Radio Ga Ga Tear It Up It's a Hard Life Man on the Prowl Machines (Back to Humans) I Want to Break Free Keep Passing the Open Windows Hammer to Fall Is This the World We Created...? I Go Crazy And don't forget Hot Space :wtf:
"Machines (Back to Humans)" is the one I was talking about. Especially with the line: Its bytes and mega chips for tea What were they thinking? netclectic wrote: And don't forget Hot Space Yes, that was also a bad Queen album. But, with Hot Space they were trying to keep up with the early eighties trends and it plain didn't work. At least in the late 70s, the punk music that they also tried to fashion into their own music did complemented what they already had. From A Kind Of Magic onwards they did get better again, thankfully.

And anyway, if you have put "Pornography", where are 17 seconds and Faith? How are you for accomodation for this week-end?
