>when peoples business get too big and famous... Oh yeah, Chris the ego-maniac. About ShotKeeper, what RAW files does it support? I have tested it with the following: Canon: 1DmkII, 1Ds, 10D, D30 and Powershot Pro 1 Fuji Finepix s/000 Nikon: Coolpix 8700, D1, D1X, D2h, D70 and D100 Olympus C-8080 Sigma SD9 and SD10 Sony 828 I have not been able to get my hands on other RAW formats, but it works with all those. IMHO the competition stuff is a joke, and no one really cares. It have NO visibility, and I know several people that said it was impossible to find stuff about the competitions, and how they work. Also, I offered some software I have made, to Chris, that he could use as prizes in the competitions, but he turned the offer down with a "We only want developer products as prizes". Huh! If I won I would love any software that might be usefull, not only developer products... As it is now, I suggest they shut down the competition stuff, and turn it back on sometime when they have time/resources to fully support it! And now I'll watch the flames when people see this post ;) - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!" ShotKeeper, my Photo Album / Organizer Application[^]

This was the last contact I had from Chris. After this, nothing.
Hi Daniel,
I spent a bit of time going and back and forth and the company's that
originally promised the prizes had indicated they had sent the email but have
since pulled out of sponsoring the competition. I've all but given up trying to
get anything out of them so if you send me your T-shirt size and address I'll
send you a consolation prize.cheers,

From: Daniel Turini (dturini@rtsistemas.com.br)BTW, I too didn't receive none of my November competition prizes yet.
I sent you 3 e-mails about this, and you sent me a confirmation e-mail
about it. But since then, silence.

If a site offers a prize and it can't deliver, it should at least give you something of equal (or greater) value. Jeez, the site's owned by Dundas. They could give you their tools and it wouldn't cost them a dime! That's really inexcusable. Cheers, Tom Archer "Use what talents you possess. I think this thread underscores why Chris doesn't want any donations. People start to feel they own the site and thus have a right to tell Chris how to run the site. If I offered Chris something as a prize and he didn't take it, I wouldn't feel hurt or miffed. It is his business what he uses for prizes. We have every right offer, but what he does with our offers should mean anything. It isn't as if he was the least bit nasty about it. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.

I have never said I felt hurt or anything, I just thought it was a bit strange. I have every right to think that, as Chris have every right to turn down my offer. - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!" ShotKeeper, my Photo Album / Organizer Application[^]

I thought the same thing, and I was supposed to receive a Dundas.NET Chart component, which seemed a very good tool. My intention was to make a nice tool with it and publish an article right away, which would obviously benefit them. Not to mention that I'm still waiting for the T-shirt to arrive... :( If you check the link on the message, you'll see two other "prize winners" that also didn't receive their prizes... Welcome back, Toasty! While the site is still one of the best, it's dealing with some rather significant problems as of late. Hopefully, things will be ironed out soon. Thanks Tom. As an aside to this thread--I look forward to sinking my teeth into your book Visual C++.Net soon. Best, Jerry

Ouch. I hadn't intended to open a big ole "Can 'o Worms" with my question.

Why did you and Marc create the RealDevs site? Why should I want to use the site when Codeproject exists? Regards, Björn Morén Stockholm, Sweden
We wanted our own site, and we wanted to do it different from CP. We have a more moderated environment, where articles are reviewed before they are posted and stuff like that.
