Cool! I'm glad to hear that. So do you have any idea how much faster it will make things? Joel Holdsworth

From Matt Newman: More over switching to linux wouldn't even help because linux doesn't create bandwidth. Actually, its TCP/IP stack is implemented much better than on Windows (not the best in the world though) which allows for a higher throughput of existing bandwidth. Jeremy Falcon

David, I for one appreciate the effort the team are putting in ! I plan on trying to persuade the supplier to do black t shirts, white isn't my colour :suss: Elaine (fashion snob fluffy tigress) The tigress is here :-D

Joel Holdsworth wrote: I'm curious... do you think that slowly phasing the site into ASP.Net would help? The site re-write in ASP.NET is very near code complete, and we're all waiting for the time when we can deploy it. We have a boatload of testing (functional, load, perf, etc.) to do before that happens though, and we need to stay focused on fixing what's currently broken. David

So, are you guys going to setup a test server somewhere on which some of us could squeeze out the last bugs before rolling it out on codeproject.com? sighist || Agile Programming | doxygenDo you mean that black and white aren't technically colors?

I would tend to agree :) p.s-Linux/Apache/PHP/MySQL still kicks the pants off any ASP/IIS/Windows/SQLServer package anyday. Colin Angus Mackay wrote: Anyway, as you should know, CP are in the process of rewriting the site to use ASP.NET. I think at one point Chris considered switching to PHP, but I figure MS appraoched him and offered a deal he couldn't refuse (So long as he stuck to windows platform). Like more money advertising, free software, who knows. It's no secret that CP is the best programming site on the net...and it's obviously in favour of windows technologies. Matt Newman wrote: You think PHP could handle it better? I don't think so. IHMO It's common knowledge that popular OSS is more efficient, cost-effective and secure/bug free than it's propritary MS counterparts. Both have their ups and downs, i'll agree, but where open source is usually best for tech savvy individuals MS makes a tradeoff between pure performance for a more commercial ease of use quality software. I'm willing to bet that OSS OS,etc are still in the lead as far as web servers are concerned. Unless the study was conducted by MS or they paid for the study...in which case the results are probably bunk X| Matt Newman wrote: You think PHP could handle it better? I don't think so. IMHO it's almost obvious it could/would. :) Cheers How do I print my voice mail?

Just ignore the statement but on your post - technically, either black or white are no color. But one is, always.
