People need not upload their own pics. They can upload representations of themselves too. For example someone might want to upload a pic of elmer fudd or say mickey mouse Nish Sonork ID 100.9786 voidmain www.busterboy.org If you don't find me on CP, I'll be at Bob's HungOut

How is saying "mickey mouse" the same as uploading a pic? "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001

I've got a pic of Charleton Heston here somewhere - think anyone would believe it? I met a lizard today who claimed to be a Brontosaurus, on his mother's side. I didn't laugh; it caused no harm, yet made him happy, in a world where happiness is in short supply...

It was taken in a client’s office. While waiting for the client (he was out of the room) an-ex-co worker, who was with me at the meeting, started 'playing' with the camera. Then just as the co-worker said something (I'm not sure I should repeat it), the client came in the office. :-O "No one knows what power lies yet undevelopped in that wiry system of mine." Cool :-) I went looking for a pic to upload, and realized I don't have very many pictures of myself (imagine that!). Most of the pictures that I do have of myself, my face was turned half sideways, too close to someone else, or are from a week long train trip I took last spring (meaning not the nicest). Not to say that the one I uploaded is the nicest, I'm sure  . In fact I thought I should explain the expression on my face. Long story short: I'm trying to contain my laughter  "No one knows what power lies yet undevelopped in that wiry system of mine." Ada Lovelace 1815-1852

Bowing to popular demand (and also the fact that I've got a ton of boringh stuff I should be doing, but did this instead) you can now upload images that will be displayed in the 'who's who' pages, and next to your bio at the bottom of your articles. BTW - no abuse of this facility will be tolerated. Post a pic that is offensive, degrading or downright illegal and your account gets flagged as having no images allowed permanently. If the system is abused generally then it gets scrapped. "Don't you have more important things to be doing?" I hear you all cry. Yes. Yes I do. cheers, Chris Maunder

I can load it, it just doesn't have a picture. I had that error for a while, and I think I uploaded one successfully, but it was too big, and now the server won't let me upload one at all. I think 150x150 is good enough. It's up to us to find a pic that is appropriate for that size restriction. Besides a picture that even has an identifiable image of the intended subject, the problem might actually be that some folks are using third-rate paint programs to make any adustments that might be needed. I use PaintShop Pro. The pic I posted is a crop of a larger photo, but Chris made it fairly easy on us. The max resoplution of the pic is *square*, so all we have to do is crop a picture so that the cropped area is square and resize the cropped area to 150 pixels. PaintShop pro makes this task almost brainless in it's simplicity. "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001

I use PaintShop Pro. PSP isn't bad at all. I prefer it to PhotoShop, because I can navigate it. PSP was the template for much of GrausPaint, and then the boss made me change everything because he likes Photoshop. They need to calculate the pixels from that, why not let us enter the pixels we want ? Christian I have come to clean zee pooollll. - Michael Martin Dec 30, 2001
