yes, this coming from someone who just wants to stick is dick in lauren. her post was not in the soapbox, but rather here in the lounge. i stand by what i said, that lauren is a hateful anti-religous extremist bigot.

Actually, the secular nationalist leaders took advantage of the religious xenophobia of the populace in offering the Jews as a scapegoat for Germany's economic and social ills since WWI. Religion was used, but just as a tool.

I never said she can't have an opinion different than mine. Not that she needs my permission, but she can have and hold whatever opinions she wants to. But, if she, or anyone else for that matter, chooses to espouse those opinions, then it is incumbent upon that opinion holder/espouser to be able defend such opinions with thoughful, reasoned arguments. When opinions are made such that an entire class of people are denigrated, then that is not just an opinion, it becomes a stereotype. If someone were to say "green people are lazy" that certainly is an opionion, but it also makes that person a bigot when they hold to an opinion that is so easily disproved. So it is with lauren, she holds that religion causes bad stuff and posts a link of dubious quality to support such a dubious "opinion." When it is pointed out that the article she posted linked to is of poor quality she goes on the offensive and rather than apologize she attacks the individual.

I've got news for you ... I am deeply religious in the context that I firmly believe in God ... but in no way did I find Lauren's posting and/or remarks nearly as offensive as your spouting off and use of profane verbiage in the lounge, which, by-the-way, is supposed to be Kid sister safe. Go wash your mouth out, and if you have something worthwhile to say, then say it. All she did was post a link to a story; nothing more. :|

For one, it's not psychobabble. For two, it was a hunch. If you don't know the definition of the word then do yourself a favor and look it up -- that would be under the letter "H" btw. For three, the psychology is valid irregardless if you understand it or not. Granted, I was working with limited "know" at the time, but with so many variables in the world, that's why I left it as a hunch. For four, you seem to have such a short temper too.
