How long does it take to send out the weekly Newsletter?
-
I suppose this question is for the CP staff, but I can't think of a better place to put it. How long does it take to send out the Monday newsletter: minutes, hours? How many people does it go to: thousands, hundreds of thousands? I've always wondered about that...

I would say that it goes to at least one hundred thousand address and it takes at least a couple of hours to complete. But this is a guess only. I'm curious if my bets are close to the truth... ;)

can who ever guess the closest to the correct time win a prize? if so, i recon hmmm around 6hour 43minutes for the last mail. 4+million members using SAMs algorithm T=(P^S)/(tx-PI)^o about 6ms for the first :) p.s yes that is a Bull S*** algorithm ;)

Yes, the winner receives the gift of immortality. The losers must be executed immediately (to harvest the requisite life-force to sustain the winner's unending life). I hope you're confident with your answer... ;P

Me too. But it seems that the Insider e-mails always arrive on the "right day." Perhaps they don't send out as many of those as they do the weekly Newsletter.

As I first worked on the algorithm: T=(P^S)/(tx-PI)^o I feel SonSam has plagerised it and so if he wins I get the eternal life part, however if he loses he can keep second prize. Dan

If you lose, the next time you log in to CP, Bob will leap from the screen and live up to his alias: "The CP Strangler". :suss:

I understand the real challenge is to get the squirrels running the server farm to type the bloody thing each week. Apparently the thought of addressing 4+ million "assorted nuts" is terribly distracting to the staff, and it can take Chris several hours to days (not to mention quite a quantity of beer) to settle things down.

I'm not sure how long, but I get it on a good regular basis with only a few hiccup here and there :)

If google runs on pigeons, that still leaves the same question, why does CP use hamsters? do they eat less than a pigeon? do they complain less? as to the confusion... not sure... maybe someone applied a bit of electric current to the hamsters to encourage them, and then the tail fluffed up and started all the confusion over squirrels....

Hamsters just keep on going like the Energizer Bunny, they may eat less than pigeons, thus saving $$$ on feed, probably don't complain and any slow down can be fixed with a 9V battery  Squirrels could probably be in the mix, as long as they have an ample supply of peanuts and acorns, but that is probably cost money unless Chris has a supplier that he can buy in serious bulk orders :)

you think with "4,355,705 members and growing! 7,537 now online." Chris can't find an endless supply of nuts? ;P
