I'm not positive, but having been here since pretty much day dot and talking with you since around the time you got here. You're about as old as me, have no kids and you yourself haven't been a kid since dinosaurs were around.

It's huge Colin. Kids aren't meant to know that the parents play Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny. My Alcoholic, Homosexual, Podophelic Father managed to keep that much straight until I explained to him I knew it was crap at the age of 10. I'm waiting to see if my Daughter remembers it in the morning or thinks it's a dream.

My teacher told the whole class when I was 7. My parents told me when I was 12, I think ( I was scared to admit I knew, I thought the presents would stop ). I agree with you, it's a harmless bit of fun, something that makes the world a bit more magical for a kid.

One of our customers to our surprise turned out to be a distillery in Antigua, we perused their wares and they had some very high end aged rums so we went down to the local govt. liquor store and they ordered us in a bottle. I forget what it cost but it was incredibly higher than even the most expensive standard rum on the store shelves. I still remember the first sip, I was completely surprised, nothing like any rum I had ever tasted before. It was criminal to mix it so we didn't. Very tasty. People's idea of rum is probably formulated early on from drinking some cheap crap they got someone to bootleg for them as wee lads. I know mine was.

Any chance the old memory might be able to tell me the name of the Rum? I will not be able to afford anything pricey for a while but when I do, I would like to have something worthwhile in mind.

I have them with my cola of choice, no prune juice or little umbrella's in my drink.

At 12:25 (about 10 minutes ago) my 8 year old Daughter sprung my wife (trying to be too clever) playing the Easter Bunny and placing Easter eggs in her bedroom. Can't wait till the morning to hear how this cluster fuck plays out. Anyway, finished the Rum for the night, back to the beer.

Maybe I wouldn't be such a good parent then. I don't agree with hiding all that stuff from kids. I'd rather say that the presents were from me than from Santa.

Our kids know the truth but we still pretend there is a bunny and santa. I tell them I never want to stifle their imagination or creativity so we have fun knowing it's a farse but it's a great farse and we really make the day right.

my parents never signed most of the gifts even when I was a rugrat. My dad still signs weird gifts 'Rudolph' or 'the elves', etc. Since most of the time he acts even weirder I'm not going to object.
