I sat in the bough of a tree and thought it was a bit rough, but the dough I made through nought but hard work was enough. Funny thing pronunciation.

Why? I can see no logical reason to pronounce it in that way: the 'a' would indicate 'ark' rather than 'ork' (irrespective of other peculiarities that have gotten thrown up here).
