The UN would have done so with glee and he would have gained huge popularity world-wide. Moreover, who's making all this "oil" money? Oil company stocks have gone down regardless of the rumor of the day.

I seem to remember the same bleeding heart euro-centric UN that we hear today demanding that Desert Storm end as soon as Iraq left Kuwait.
