If I understand your problem correctly, you don't need AJAX to do this, just some tricky JavaScript. I deleted the server name when I posted the code up, I should have replaced it with something generic. As per above, it was the strMessage that contained apostrophies, which caused the error. Thanks for the link, Ill have a good read of it.
