Well, you have a great point, Sir, but I was specifically referring the Computer Science/I.T. field not any other field in question.:):):) I really admire those guys in physics especially the electical/electronic engineers, but I was specifically referring to I.T.

Remember, the who's the greater post on the lounge. Now, here is a new one. I love the I.T. field, especially software development, but which area of the I.T. field do we have more people involved than ever. Is it in Computer Programming, Network Administration, System Administration, Database Administration or what and what. If a newbie enters this field, from experience where would you tell him to go? Be frank on this. I recommend Software Development, cos it is based on a high level of thinking, I am not saying the others don't require it, but not very much. But nevertheless, not all companies require developers, so other areas do count. Thanks

Man! man!! man!!! I never mean you become an all-rounder of an I.T. guy, I mean you gain colorful insight into other areas of I.T. I am beginning to wonder, if u ever written a database app, or ever used Active Directory as a security model or ever a linux system app. Get some books Man, it is important as a developer to have fundamental knowledge of every other IT concerns.

This is inspired by John Simmons' Message on Admin Rights. It is time to communicate something. I thought the developers wrote the apps on any OS that sysadmins and netadmins configure.:cool::cool: I thought they are even taught by developers, how to go around those stuff as how to configure, install and administer their various server apps, but from the article by John subjected Admin Rights?, developers are walking on fallowed grounds, begging to have access to the OS features developed by developers, how strange.:confused: Remember, the programmer cum developer are creators as in creative, sysadmins, netadmins are administrators, they use what has been created to achieve a general purpose. So who on your pick is the greater? I go for the developer cos development (i mean software) allows you to know all the stuff about database admin, sys admin, net admin, and even electrical engineering as in programming circuits (remember the machine language on some strange processor). So who on your pick is the greater?

You've worked for many employers, you've done many private jobs, to the extent those jobs paid u more than ur employer's pay. You've gain tons of skill and accumulated lots of knowledge. Then u start thinking, Isn't it time to go solo and start up your own I.T Consulting, Software whatever firm. What do you guys think? I do lots of it, esp. when u use RAD tools as VS2005. Infact, that is where I got to learn a lot on those MFC, ATL hippies which could be done all night, but nevertheless, I do it at home, don't want ur boss sending u query emails, would u.:laugh:;)
