I chose to buy my own boxes and colo because of too much pain with hosting companies. One client that I support recently had a server compromised but as it was a leased box (not managed by them) they would not let us near it to rebuild! They also did not offer to do anything to actually help us get the services back up and running. They had no interest in the fact that the server was down. That company has now lost that client, who is now going to buy his own boxes and colo with me managing them.

A great man. Cats don't only do it when you're coding, they also like nothing better than to sit right in front of the monitor whilst you're trying to move a scout in Civilization or drape themselves across the keyboard just as you hit a big fight in Oblivion! Never mind when you're on a call, remote controlling someones machine, and they decide your hand on the mouse is a great toy. Of course it could just be that they've decided it's feeding time and you're the one to do it. Wouldn't be without them though. The Dragon
