Don't forget that you need to account for maintenance and the time to deliver. When a client needs something and he needs it right now, you will need to stop your other commitments and thus, you could be charging higher for that.

  • Project Management

I think that no matter what method, whether it be organized paperwork or wiki server or project management tool that keeps everything together, the point of it is getting organized and keeping the documents updated ! In my organization, we have all these paperwork that is supposed to document the systems and enhancements and all... and as time goes by, there are more and more of these and no one keeps them updated and tracking the bugs and enhancements are a nightmare! Because of this, there are frequent instances where there is duplication of effort somewhere. X|

  • Anyone still use the Classic appearance? [modified]
    A alvinloh

I still use the Classic appearance. Running on a Mac with Vista in a VMware Fusion window .. The shiny aero interface is somewhat slow in a fusion window and doesn't really make sense anyhow .. so disabled it and ran with Classic instead.

  • No More Improvement Possible: When Software Becomes Monstrous and Bloated
    A alvinloh

I think its a double-edged sword. If you include features (whether commonly used or not), it may turn some people away from the product due to the perceived complexity and those "I only want to burn a cd" people. However, it may also bring in new users who might be looking for those features and will buy the product IF it had those features in the box. Although by including features (whether useful or not), you will invariably make the whole software bigger and more complex. I think that's fine if the features can be easily found and complements and adds to the value of the overall product. Of course, having the ability to "apt-get" new features as you need them is the best solution :-D ----------------- Vent, Complain, Share, Whatever at www.phuckthis.net
