    1. LCD/LED - LED TVs use a bit less power and the picture seems a bit richer. Judgement call if it is worth the extra money. Plasma is somewhat cheaper and has the best picture by far, but they use more power (almost twice?) and generate a lot more heat. 2) Size - Depends on distance. I have a 55" at a viewing distance of 15 feet and I wouldn't mind a bigger one (that 65" is really pricey though). 3) Brand - My last two have been Samsung and I've been happy with them. 4) Internet - I don't have this on my TV, but I do through a BD player. I don't use it much but it's kind of nice to have available, occasionally watch some Hulu and YouTube on it, Netflix is also available if I subscribe. I don't know about the TV version, but the BD version just has a couple dozen selected sites you can access, it is not a general web browser.

  • Jokes in Code Comments
    B bdenton42

How about joke code? At a prior job one of the developers had added a small function called "pizza()" which would print out the names and telephone numbers of several of the local pizza joints in town. There was nothing that called it, but it could be executed in the debugger or via a special command on the console. A dozen years later someone complained to this developer that some of the pizza places no longer existed and that some of the phone numbers were wrong, so he submitted a change request which updated the function. One of the software builders noticed the change request, rejected it, and removed the offending code citing it as a waste of memory, never mind that it was a drop in the bucket as the project had over 20 million lines of code.

The whole point of Agile is two-way communication with the user. It's fine if the PjM is doing this communcation, but in any case there should still be some kind of documentation, however brief, which describes the functionality that the user wants. If there is no two-way communication with the user don't bother pretending that it's Agile.

I wouldn't call that site "facts". A wild ass guess is more like it. Read some of the methodology (if you could call it that) near the bottom. WTF is "Go" and why is it so high in the list?

Then I don't think mono touch C# would technically qualify as "originally written in Objective-C, C, C++, or Javascript". And as long as the Flash runtime was "originally written in Objective-C, C, C++, or Javascript" who cares about the Flash Code, which effectively amounts to nothing more than data feeding the Flash runtime. Apple needs to get over itself.

The End of Time still showed Rassilon as the President, so if Romana became President it must have been either very short lived or happened after the end of time. :) IMO they just dropped Romana on the floor after Baker and Ward split up.

Presumably Romana as well, although they never mentioned her again.

That would be about 165 billion cards, which at your typical 250cpm punch rate would take 1255 years to punch. Google should get started.

  • Will the QC kill the PC?
    B bdenton42

Now we will receive millions times more spam and malware than we do already. Remember the spammers will have those machines as well. Then when Q-McAfee comes out it will proceed to absorb a huge chunk of QAM and QPU like it does now with RAM and CPU. It still boggles my mind that McAfee currently occupies over 100 times the original PC's memory space. Q-Vista will run slower than ever. On the up side you can get all the pron on the internet instantaneously.
