I just got increase in my day rate as iOS dev. I used "increase in price of equipment" as one of the reasons :)

Other than being able to be kept in a pocket, why would anyone want a $1K iPhone instead of a notebook & pad? -
Worst deploy story? My friend was on work experience from college with one of ireland's largest bank about a decade ago. She was on night shift and was tired and deploying something and mistyped and accidentally shut down every ATM in the country. Had to wait ages for them all to come back online again.

So in SCRUM...?1,2 hours..Lightweight! I once had a meeting in america that went on for 2 DAYS! till midnight both night. 3 months designing of this application. head guy says he knows best then drag everyone into a meeting to talk him through our design. To which he then argues every point out so eventually he does it all his way. Day 2 involved him sitting with us redesigning the whole thing in MS Project page by page. I remember my team lead thumping me in the leg as my eyes had started to close and head nod back. 6 month deadline arrive....missed, 8 months.. missed. 9 months team lead walks. half the team goes contracting. 1 year later no product delivered. parent company fires everyone inc the annoying manager who rewrote it all HAHAHAHAHA. Im now IPhone programming. if it doesnt get delivered its my fault noone elses ..scary but rewarding. tend to clarify your mind when you have real customers and not clients :and all the bugs are yours and not someone elses. feature creep is avoided :)

Best Programming Advice Ever.Just do what apple do. Create a platform...IPOD/IPHONE They only change 3 things every 6 months..(Email forwarding (cmon we all know that took a day to write))..have a big macworld announcement and the starving clients will praise you forever. :) 6 bugs /year...think thats a programmers best average? :)

Independant Consultants Hourly RatesIn London the average for contractors: (given 7.5hrs in a day) (1.00 GBP = 1.49219 USD) Java/Serverside = £400/day = £53/hr = $79 C# slightly less Finance can go up to £500/650. Media (Web/RIA) 250/300/day Agency's add 20% on top. All of course if you have a job, 4000 lost their jobs in banks this week and now agencies pulling every dirty trick in the book to get references(fake jobs/ demanding references before offers etc.)

The most I can f**k up is to allocate the wrong doctor to an operation......whoops.!

What's the cheesiest song you wouldn't wanna get caught dead listening to but secretly enjoy? [modified]Yesterday I was watching FRINGE Weird, duracell-battery guy was electrocuting the love of his life in a lift, as you do. A song had been playing. So picked up my IPhone, pressed SHAZAM, tagged the song, it found it, downloaded it and was singing along to REO SPEEWAGON Cant Fight This Feelng before the lift plummeted to her death. So that was the cheesiest AND the nerdiest song I ever listened to..well this week anyway :) I grew up in the 80's that was 10 years of cheese.
