'Leap Second' Bug Wreaks Havoc Across Web -
Bookmarks not workingI'm having an issue with Bookmarks not working. When I click the Bookmark icon, it briefly changes to a circular progress and then back to the Checked Star, but it never really bookmarks the article. I tested this in IE 9 and Chrome 11. Chris

Creating MultiFrame images and dramatic increase in file sizeAh, the old RTFM gotcha. Oops! I really need to pay closer attention. LOL Yeah, I just decoder to append the images together, which keeps the size close. Now i'm just trying to work out saving off the indexes in the same file. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Creating MultiFrame images and dramatic increase in file sizeHello, I found the following code to create a MultiFrame image in C#[^] and used it on 3 jpeg files. The file sizes were 96 KB, 103 KB and 82 KB. However, the output file was 2.7 MB. It seems like the process is decompressing the jpegs or something. I tried to add another parameter to set the quality, but I really don't want to decrease the quality or change the dimensions. I'm basically trying to find the simplest methods to put the images into an "archive" that I can then read and separate the images at a later time. I don't want to use zip files. I just want to append all images and read them back via offsets and a binary reader and then display the images in a picture box. I'd like to also store these offsets in the output file as some sort of "header" record if possible. I'm trying to keep it simple and the output file size around the same size as the originals. Any thoughts here on the MultiFrame size issue or a sample of how to create a some "archive"? Thanks, Chris

I have a 16GB 3G model - not the 3GS - and my only complaint is I could do with more storage as I use the iPod feature *all the time*.
I got the 8GB iPhone and use Simplyfy Media to stream the music, 200+ CDs collection, from my house to my iPhone that way I don't have to keep any music on the iPhone itself. If I ever go somewhere that doesn't have Edge/3G or WiFi, then I will load the music on the iPhone. Pandora is my 2nd favorite music app. C

Microsoft Security Essentials vs. Norton 360I have MSE on machines I don't use much, but I run Norton Internet Security on my main box. With MSE being so new, and it not being as powerful as a AV package from a traditional vendor, I don't know if I will trust it on my main box. Norton may be a beast compared to MSE, but it's better than it was in the past and much quicker. In fact, it won Maximum PC's best AV category 2 years in a row. The only strange thing about Norton is that for me to upgrade from 2009 to 2010 it would have cost me $50-60 or $70 for a new version, but I bought 2010 new from Amazon for $30 for a 3 PC install. C

3D moviesRajesh R Subramanian wrote:
They do fit over normal glasses. That's one of the main reasons why theaters supply the audience with very light and thin ones (usually the frame is slightly thick paper, and the 'lenses' are again thin films).
The 3D glasses that have seen handed out at my theaters aren't cheap paper and plastic film, but look like ProView 3D Glasses [^], but I haven't tried them on to see how they fit. Usually, there's a bin outside the theater that you drop them in after watching the movie. I've read that some theaters charge you for the glasses and then want them back, which is BS and why I want to buy my own pair, but I haven't been to a 3D movie yet, so I am not sure. I like the clip on pair, which are $7, excluding S&H. C

3D moviesI just hope they fit over normal glasses otherwise I'll never see a 3D more or I will need to get laser eye surgery. I know you can buy your own 3D glasses for about $10, but I dunno if you can buy a ticket to a 3D movie without paying for 3D glasses at the same time. C

IE8 search box and Google Toolbar IssueJRHutch wrote:

Yep, I also use Chrome, but I wanted to know about a resolution for IE8. Thanks, Chris

IE8 search box and Google Toolbar IssueI had the Google Toolbar installed up until about 15 minutes ago, but had to remove it because 8/10 times I wanted to type something into the IE8 search box (the one in upper right) focus would switch to the address bar right in the middle of my typing. I would then need to click back in the search box to continue typing my search, which is a pain and if the search text was short sometimes I would hit enter to search and not realize that I was typing part of the search in the address bar, which is an even bigger pain. Has anyone else had this issue or know of a solution? I liked the most recent websites preview (Google feature) when opening a new tab. Is there an addon for IE8 that accomplishes the same thing as the new tab preview feature so that I can leave Google Toolbar uninstalled? Thanks, Chris

MS WebsiteSparkRama Krishna Vavilala wrote:
They don't. Your existing licenses will remain valid.
Are you sure the licenses don't expire after the 3 years? I found this blurb in the WebsiteSpark Program Guide: What happens after three years of participation in WebsiteSpark? At the end of their program participation: • Program members will no longer have rights to use the WebsiteSpark Program Software. However, at the conclusion of their participation in WebsiteSpark, program members will have had the benefit of the WebsiteSpark experience, better equipped to determine the Microsoft technologies that best fits their business needs. Looks to me like you can't use the software after the 3 years, unless you get the $999/yearly renewal. Let me know if I am missing something. C

Windows 7..Then you are one of the few very rare people not having sync issues. iTunes works fine except it won't sync with my iPhone. There are tons of threads of this issue on their forums, so it's not just me. I am running Win7 x64 RC atm and I used the 9.0.1 iTunes x64 installer Apple indicated. I'll give it a little longer for them to fix it, then I will go back to Vista. C
