Typical user doesn't understand how the tech works. That feature is only available to individuals with supported hardware. Try upgrading to Book 2.0 or, as a workaround, you can use outdated technology such as the Hololens or other supported VR headset. Click here for a list of supported VR headsets.

Ambition is a wonderful thing, but...I'm in the same boat... I've been hanging on to several ideas for various years, but I've always been discouraged by the sheer amount of work. As a single developer, it would likely take me the majority of my life (and possibly some of my afterlife) to complete some of my more ambitious ideas. Not to mention a lack of artistic ability. Sure, the obvious answer is to find people to team up with, but that requires being social... and compromising with people who want a say on how my ideas are built. :~

I can't see all the problems with upgradesI'm not convinced that there is a difference... I urgently needed to use my Win10 PC this morning before rushing out the door to the office. I boot up to find that Win10 finally decided to update to the anniversary edition (which I didn't actually want, but it's not like we're given a choice any more). 20 minutes later, Windows finally booted. I received two notifications: 1. Updates were installed (Really? Hadn't noticed...) 2. Do you need help fixing your sound? (Huh? Oh, yay. You broke my sound in the update. Thankfully all it had done was switch the output source.)

New password in angerIn a recent ground-up rebuild of an application, I had a related argument with the project lead/client. I tried insisting that we should include no forced rules, but instead provide a strength meter based on the zxcvbn library. My argument: a users password is a users password and who are we to define what is a "correct" password? Instead, we should warn against perceived password strength and accept what the user provides. Final decision? A password must be at least 7 characters long and contain at least one letter and one number. *sigh* "pass123" is considered a "very strong" password. X|

As a developer, should I know...How many developers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None, it's a hardware problem.
But in all seriousness, why not know the stuff? Everything you learn improves you as an individual and makes you more valuable. Always keep improving yourself!

Good grief MS, why?You think that's bad? Use the calculator often enough and they'll pop up a little overlay that reads something like "Do you like this app? Please rate it in the Windows Store!". I wish I was joking.

A message for every programmer in the world. Bar none.I think we can add a couple more on to this list: 1. This may be a stereotype or a generalization, but I suspect the tech field appeals to a certain type of person with a certain type of brain chemistry. As an example, introverts, individuals with social anxieties, and/or Asperger's. Often these people don't have the best social skills. I know I fall under this grouping. 2. There's an inherent degree of competition in our field that leaves many developers feeling insecure in their position and/or knowledge (see "imposter syndrome"). It's quite likely that these developers use the Q&A model to (verbally) cut down the competition and prove their superiority.

I know I'm probably the last one here to have heard of this, but...That's the point I was alluding to. If this thing works like an FTP, I'd rather install an FTP that I have full control over.
-
I know I'm probably the last one here to have heard of this, but...And what's the difference between installing this and setting up an FTP service on your machine? It sounds to me as if basefolder is just a (much) simplified FTP service.
