Most serious injury is a crushed ankle (left). How ? Driving down road and driver did not see road washed out, car nosedived into hole - luckily people were there who witnessed this and helped. Last comment from Sharon was "I've been legless before..." It will be a long road but the surgeons reckon a full recovery is likely. Again, sorry about the slow response. In Brisbane at the moment: Was helping get a lady with two (!) broken legs to the hospital and I'm in the back steadying the wheelchair she was on (the ambulance had to go to another location so we didn't have a spare gurney and was using a loaned van) Anywho she's in the back with both legs elevated on an extension to the chair and she says "I haven't had my legs up like this for years" We nearly drove off the road, in hysterics. Three people absolutely laughing their ass off at emergency reception got some strange looks I can tell you. Brisbanes infrastructure (power, comms, supplies has come back fairly quickly, more work to do but I'm impressed - though Brazil depresses me) Happy trails Oh and I'm going to visit her in hospital today, that should brighten my day I'm sure.

Computer science in Uni can be a bit dry but the employment path can be diverse and rich. Change is a constant which is why I have been doing this for a long time now. Others may not enjoy the sometimes furious pace of change and new technologies but I find it keeps me alive (and employed). It certainly pays to be a fast learner though.

I'd be surprised if more than 10 % of us did. Anyhoo, a programmer is the dude who slugs in the machine code to say a shift register, or a plastics injection moulder line - a developer designs applications and may also do the programming for same. I do both, but work in house for a reasonably well sized corporation. (So if I fuck up it is pretty obvious who's fault it is) ((so I don't))
