More convention than standard. There are standard connector types, most started as some manufacturers spec, 0.1" square spacing double row the most common, usually square pins, ( this is mostly a manufacturing consideration, especially related to how the female contacts are made - stamped from thin sheet), but 0.157 (? that's from foggy memory ) isn't that rare, and the dreaded 0.2mm ones are used when some bright eyes wants to save a tiny bit of space. Higher power connectors usually mean larger pins, wider spacing, often round pins ( to match more robust machined sockets ). The other convention, that Rasp Pi violates in the name of price, is that power flows out of female connectors. ( Yeah, I blew up one Pi when the pins touched a piece of EMT. )

PDF Viewer adviceI _think_ I hit this ( probably using Foxit ) and found that there can be "overviews" and "closeup views" in a pdf. It may depend on how the PDF was generated. This was a set of ( curse, mutter ) drawings that I needed to modify. ( Damnit, my clients get .dwg files. ) ( At least this was vector and there are good converters. ) If you can explain to the source that _real_ drawings are better for both of you-- Oh, if you could you would have. I wouldn't expect it to be Adobe, _but_ I think that Thunderbird has done that to me with it's "sorta works" built-in viewer. Luck

Microsoft moneyNot unless I've missed something. This does add a step, (downloading the QIX file and importing ) but I download pdfs and make card payments on the card site anyway, so it doesn't add much. QIFs are a bit of a pain but the best you get from PayPal. Having gotten used to it, it's way of working makes more sense to me than Quicken ( not the download, the account setup ( but that shift was 5 (?) years ago with a new and not well organized ( first try ) set of Quicken accounts for a non-profit my wife worked for - so 1, I don't remember it well, and 2, the Quicken setup hadn't been done as well as possible - it did seem better for her to work with as day to day office person, and worked sharing with the treasurer. )) I _think_ I looked at KiCash (?) some time ago while trying to find something that covered what I wanted better. Didn't then see reason to change. YMMV ( The company I used to work for, tried PeachTree and JobBoss and still didn't find a solution that fit well for accounting / job tracking so I'm not surprised. )

Microsoft moneyTake a look at GnuCash, will do the import from Quicken.

I wish Microsoft would write a CAD program.I haven't tried DesignSpark, but some like it. An other possibility(s) is the software from the board house. I used ExpressPCB several years back - poor software but simple for the small thing I was doing - their 3 boards 2" x 3" deal worked for me. ( But I only needed 7 LEDs, terminal strips and stuff, no logic ICs. ) ( Also, I needed to have the board match the enclosure top ( a Rose & Bopla cast Al box - you need an HMI for 6 spindle multiples? IR, Bosch, Copco... ? ) so some component placement was dictated by panel design. ) There's at least 2 other places with their own software and I expect the software has gotten better. Better than breadboards, ( Oh, I really like my Hakko iron. And the PanaVise. ) Have fun. dave

Next ComputerHi, ( There used to be an intelligent "copy as needed" command line tool in DOS 3.1 ?? Win 3.?? but it was too useful and got dropped. ) Clonezilla for "dup this". FreeFileSync for "compare this tree to that" and mirror them, update that one, select changes... Almost works as I'd like. gparted ( usually running from system rescue disk, bootable CD ) to copy, resize... partitions. I've usually used Clonezilla copying to a USB connected drive. Haven't had a problem there. ( Make _sure_ you know which drive is which. cloning from one WD 2 TB to a second WD 2TB is dangerous. It will show drive model, and I _think_ serial #, but you are basically running dd with training wheels. NO forgiveness. ) Have fun, dave ( who _still_ hasn't gotten the time to install the new 4 TB )

When your customer plans on opening a branch on the moon...Powered up control panel, powered up - one at a time tool controllers and set IP addresses ( they come set to 192.168.0.4 ) powered up 4 at once. NO communication. Spent hours - bad switch? funky cables? ??? finally found 4 or 5 of them still had the chip default MAC address. Wanna know how to really confuse a switch? Had to go buy a null modem cable to program the right MACs. Globally unique id fail.

How to buy medical insurance personally?"retiring" if you's old enough, there may be help. I'm on Medicare, I checked online for the supplement, $15 - $20 a month. ( No drugs, in good health. ) Then checked the Tri-County office on aging. They have people who can help and a good database. Result, I pay $0 ( Well gotta pay some for Medicare part B. ) for the "advantage plan". If you are old enough, ( or nearly, get on medicare 3 (?) months before that birthday ) look for something similar.

Things I've LearnedHmmph! Slinkies are much more useful! Lotta things you can do with them. And that's not counting the oversize ones we had in the hall in high school physics. Twintw feet of loose spring to study waves.

The joys of 3D printing( My joy of 3D printing was dear windows doing one of it's "you haven't touched the mouse in _hours_ I'll just force a re-boot now" half way thru a print. ) 3-D cad, - now, I started as a machinist. We cut stock apart, cut shapes, weld or bolt together. I like Solidworks, it does that well, you may want something that acts more like molding clay. So, you need to consider the shapes you are making and how you are defining them. For my work, I've been using Alibre. It's not what I'd take for full time, but closer to $1K than $5K. If you have a _fast_ connection, OnShape can do a good job. If you don't care about assemblies, ( in the above, I could model a bicycle as component parts then assemble it. And turn the crank - probably have that turn the rear wheel, I don't think I could get a derailleur to shift the chain. ) But for just parts, and you _could_ model the bicycle as one part, there are several free programs, ( FreeCAD looks good, but given I can't do assemblies, I've not really worked at it. ) Several of the big cad systems ( Catia and Ansys, I think Autodesk not sure who else ) have free 3d part modelers some may have the more "plastic" approach I expect lots of people to want. Their free offerings are limited, but some only in that they don't handle assemblies, and they are stable. Good code base under them. If your needs are more than that check our Rhino. Have fun.

Wah hey! I've got my second Covid jab date!( Censored! ... ) This long a wait? 40 mi.? When I got mine ( month ago ) it was 4 mi. and I think the worst possible in the county would have been 10. Now it's drop in at ( list of supermarkets, drug stores ) so 5 places in 2 mi. We had different luck. ( Pfizer ) I had a sore shoulder and a bit extra tired for a day the first, less than that the second, she got one wiped day the first and 2 miserable days the second. ( But Lou, got the first, pulse jumped to 140. No take second ) Good luck.
