Yeah, the default phone app on my Android is limited to blocking 500 specific numbers. Once that filled up, I ended up just writing a little "blocking" app that blocks whole ranges of numbers. It's very effective. I may get one odd call every other month now.

The return value of IPM_GETADDRESS is a DWORD that is broken up into 4 pieces, one for each of the four octets. There is no count. A possibly better option would be to call GetWindowText() on the CIPAddressCtrl's control. Getting the string representation of the IP address would allow you to parse and validate the octets. You would still get 0 for empty ones, though.

Try changing the size of searchStr and replaceStr to something too large (but still only enter 10 characters). When you make them just large enough and you enter in that many characters, fgets() leaves the \n in the keyboard buffer and the second call to fgets() see it and exits right away.
