English Language QuestionA large percentage of english people would be unlikely to know what an indefinite article was, so your use of english puts us to shame! http://www.learnenglish.org.uk/grammar/archive/articles_pronunciation.html[^] You can very occasionally hear people say "an hotel", but it's very rare, and I wouldn't expect to see that written down, outside of, say, period novels. Mobile phone recommendationI have one of those too, though don't use it for mp3s or calendar: I have my muvo and palm for that ;) Hey what do you expect if you ask on a geek forum? Battery life is around 5 days on standby. Recharge time is very quick with the supplied adapter. It's a neat phone. Debbie

Comprehending the IT guyComprehending the IT guy - Take One: Two IT guys were walking across the park when one said, "Where did you get such a great bike?" The second IT guy replied, "Well, I was walking along yesterday minding my own business when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike. She threw the bike to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, 'Take what you want'. The second IT guy nodded approvingly, "Good choice. The clothes probably wouldn't have fit. Comprehending the IT guy - Take Two: An architect, an artist and an IT guy were discussing whether it was better to have a wife or a mistress. The architect said he enjoyed time with his wife, building a solid foundation for an enduring relationship. The artist said he enjoyed time with his mistress, because of the passion and mystery he found there. The IT guy said, "I like both." The artist said "BOTH?" The IT guy replied "Yeah. If you have a wife and a mistress, they will each assume you are spending time with the other woman, and you can go to the office and get some work done." Comprehending the IT guy - Take Three: To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the IT guy, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be. Comprehending the IT guy - Take Four: An IT guy was crossing a road one day when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog and put it in his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will stay with you for one week." The IT guy took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it and returned it to his pocket. The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you for a week and do ANYTHING you want." Again the IT guy took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket. Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess, that I'll stay with you for a week and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?" The IT guy said, "Look I work in IT. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog - now that's cool." Debbie

People don't lieI would think that only pathological liars, or naive idiots, would answer FALSE to that question. Rather odd screening test for a p/t job in a clothes store. More appropriate for politicians, I would have thought. Or would that be negative screening to only let the pathological liars through? Debbie

Nokia 6230I've had one for a couple of months now and like it. I wasn't bothered about a camera when I bought it: I wanted a bluetooth phone which is why I switched. Having said that, I'm finding that the camera takes pretty good snaps and is being used a lot! The 5 way navigation button did take a bit of getting used to at first, but now I've used it a while I'm very comfortable with it. There is a known problem with some if you charge them without switching them off: you need to reset the date/time. I just charge mine with it switched on to avoid this problem: the battery life is pretty good. Debbie

iPod or similarI was looking into this recently as I wanted to be able to shift around 3 GB of data from my office to home pc on a regular(ish) basis. One that interested me was the IRiver: it got good reviews, but it would be nice to hear if anyone has used it. Debbie

How can you value a web site?Yes, it sells a product. I guess the potential purchasers must know the turnover, the client base etc. It's the web aspects that they aren't as familiar with. As I said, if it was me then, yes, I would seek professional advice. Are there solicitors/agents who specialise in such business transfers? How would they find one? Debbie
