What if OS came lik a plug-n-play chip? That is roughly the same as a bootable cd/dvd version OS (Ubuntu, Knoppix). There are instructions on the web for making Ubuntu boot off of a flash drive.

VirusesIt's been a while since I have heard of a big virus outbreak like the 'good old days': saphire, melissa, i love you...Do you think people are wiser when it comes to opening emails, or maybe the tools are more adept at stopping them (i.e. outlook / xp)? I remember once we had an outbreak of some virus at work ('i love you' or something similar). It was a fairly small-to-midsized company of about 50 people. The virus kept spreading around so the IT guy made everyone shut off their computer and he went to each one specifically and ran the cleaner. No sooner than he got everyone up and running did someone open the exact same virus email again and start the process all over. Funny stuff!

InsiderIs it me, or did everyone stop getting the "insider" newsletter? I went into my account and made sure both newletter options were checked. It just stopped one day. Hopefully I'm not missing something obvious.

commercialsIs it me or is the quality of commercials really going downhill? I think it's mostly because of what businesses are being advertized (i.e. Cash till Pay Day Loans, Car Sales, Lawyers). There is one specifically here in AZ for "Arizona's Accident Lawyers That Ride". The TV commercial has a Tiger sitting on the side of the road while a bunch of guys ride by on bikes. But the tiger is CG and it looks like a 3rd grader did it with windows 3.1 and MS Paint. And their slogan is aweful. I dont know if it is technically correct grammer, but it doesn't sound right.

Is there a way out?I was there for 8 years and didnt' see a way out. Then one day I decided that I needed to be a man. I wasn't "trapped" like I thought I was - I could do anything that I wanted to do, so I grew some balls and started being more aggressive at life. Get out, take up hiking, talk to some girls. They like confidence! No one will walk up to you and offer to make life better, it will turn out however YOU make it. Now YOU have to decide what kind of life YOU will live. What country are you in by the way?

Questions can be horribly misleading because the English language is open to interpretation
I told the polygrapher before the test started that one of the questions was worded very wierd and that I didn't know how to answer. The question: "Are you now withholding the full extent of all drug use or sales?" [me] "I dont know how to answer that - I know I haven't used or sold drugs - should I say 'yes' or 'no'?" [him] You should tell the truth [me] I know but what I am saying is that I dont know what 'yes' or 'no' means to that question - can you replace the word 'withholding' with 'divulging' so that I can answer it confidently? [him] "no, 80,000 people have answered that question before you - suddenly you don't know what it means?" [me] thats right - i get accused all of the time for misinterpreting what people are saying So on the polygraph I had to convince myself to answer "no" - even though my automatic response is "yes". Then wouldn't you know - I answered "yes" once on accident. He practically flipped over in his chair like he had just captured osama bin laden. "I knew it" he said. You failed. A part of me still feels like he is just messing with me and that I really passed - because I did tell the truth. My question is "when I said yes on accident did it register as deceptive?"
