What speed are the CPU(s)? There is a bug in NTVDM in CPUs >= 2Ghz. Microsoft have a patch but you need to request it from them OR if you want I can send it to you.

16 bit apps in 32 bit OS -
Windows InformationThanks for the reply! The assignment is a comparsion of DOS/MacOS/WindowsXP/Linux and I have to compare a few things such as file-systems supported, network protocols supported, user interface, etc. Plus provide information on the Memory Management Model (e.g Real Mode/Protected Mode) and Process Management (e.g Pre-emptive MultiTasking). I can readily find the information for the other OSes in books and online but not for Windows XP. So I am after a desciption of what "model" XP uses for the above (Process and Memory). Daniel Turini wrote: Now, we see how useful were those WOSSA certification courses. Funnily enough, I am a MCP but the lowest level that that gets to is that Windows 2000 needs RAM. Unless they have changed the XP exam to examine the more low level stuff.;P

Windows InformationHi, Does anyone know of any sites that may help me in finding some technical information on the Process Management and Memory Management of Windows, in particular Windows XP? I have searched (for about 3 hours) on google and only found apps to help Windows do its memory management, etc. For the record this is for a TAFE assignment but I'm not asking anyone to do my work for me, as such, just a nudge in the right direction. Thank You. :)

driving my carI guess it depends on the type of driving that you are doing. Admittedly I do use the gearbox (manual) to slow down in normal conditions and slow speeds but if I am flogging the car doing my best skaife impersonation then I will rely on the brakes. Nothing is quite like seeing a friend's car after he tried to use the gearbox to slow down going around a corner, and ended up going into a tree.

driving my carI'm no expert but which would be cheaper to replace? Brakes or a Gearbox?

Is your home pc better than your work pc?Hi, At work I have a Dell Latitude (laptop)- P3 850Mhz, 512Mb RAM, 20Gb HDD, network is fine. At home I have a DIY dual P3 1Ghz, 512Mb RAM, about 70Gb HDD, there is no network (I get enough looking after the one at work). Michael.
