That's exactly what IE10 has fixed. They are not their own target anymore. They actually have gone so far in IE11 to prevent this targeting that in their current beta release the user-agent string is formed in such a way to make old hacks think it's firefox.

I would have to say...... You're saying you won't use 2012 because the *beta* broke your system? :wtf:

New development desktop...I think that saying should be "You don't get what you don't pay for" because you don't always get what you do pay for.

Win8 TabletPC as Dev platorfmI've had an XPS 12 for the past 3 weeks or so, it's technically a convertible, not a tablet, but when you're talking about using a dock it's about the same thing. I did go for the i7 model w/ 8 GB of ram, so in that respect it's more powerful that the expected Surface Pro, but otherwise it's relatively comparable. Development with VS2k12 and SSMS open is snappy and a pleasant experience, and I can convert to tablet mode whenever I want to consume instead of create. I do bring a full size mouse along with me for creating, but I did this even with full sized laptops, I can't stand trackpads. I do find myself subconsciously reaching up from the keyboard to just touch buttons on occasion rather than switching to the mouse, as it's faster. Convertibles are quite capable of handling light to moderate development tasks, it won't usurp a multi-monitor setup as a primary environment, but it's comfortable when you have to work out of your element.

All HDMI not created equal?HDMI is a digital connection, there are different specifications (1.2, 1.3, etc) that will make a difference in features supported, but brand to brand does not make a difference in quality. Since interference either happens or doesn't (digital) you either get correct data to the TV or you don't, it's not "blurry" or "staticy". A blurry image is likely caused by analog/digital conversion at some point being subpar or upscaling.

Cookies vs. isolated StoragePut a GUID in the cookie, store that GUID in your isolated storage, if they go to the page and the GUID is missing then wipe the part of the isolated storage you would have expected the user to "clear" by manually clearing it. This way you can properly clear user data, but get the benefits of using local storage instead of a cookie. (If it's a security issue, put a key in the cookie instead of a GUID).

disable gridviewI wouldn't say there is someone somewhere who can break everything, because there is someone somewhere who can write something that first person couldn't break. I think you were looking more for: For everything, there is someone somewhere who can break it.

eBay and SecurityDid you attempt to look at someone selling "adult" content and it requested you to re-enter your password to verify you were an adult? If that's the case you've misinterpreted unauthorized, as they meant that you hadn't authorized it, not that they circumvented security.

XBox vs PS2Can you guys not read? He said he DIDN'T want to buy a PS3 or XBox360 due to the price. He wants opinions on the PS-TWO vs the X-Box (NO NUMBER). The PS2 has some an incredible library and actually still has some (very few) games being released for it, you will be able to find all sorts of deals on great games and less likely to have problems. I will echo the sentiment that the games are the reason to buy the console. Another possibility to consider would be a Nintendo DS, it's a lot of fun, and depending on the type of games you want to play and other factors (do you travel etc) it can be a great piece of hardware. Anyway at that price point I still would say it's worth stepping up to the Wii, as you'll get a "current gen" console (IE more likely to have the current games produced for it), and the console is targeted at fun more than any other.
