Don't know if this helps with this problem but I had a another problem with access not being able to execute some wizards. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't fix the problem, too. It turned out that the required DAO dll wasn't registered correctly, IIRC. Registering dao360.dll in my case solved the problem. Could be worth a try... You're trying to limit a runtime value at design time. This can only be done by the designer including code to validate the parameters at runtime. AFAIK the standard tools and addon third party tools don't do this. You'll need to add the code to your functions manually and trap any errors. ...Steve

I use asp.net 2.0 (and in general .net 2.0) for work and I have been working with it for 4 months; in my personal opinion I think that it IS definately the move: -asp.net 2.0 is much more mature then 1.1, it's better designed (behaviours of everything are always clear) and allows more reuse of code (you won't have anymore that workaround feeling you get from 1.1 when doing something different from a cart) -it allows standard compliance and the designer won't mess up all your code -you can upload and release just part of the website and you don't have to upload the whole binary (usefull when someone is working on other features and is still not done) -better usage of web user controls, you can finally use properties and events programmatically of a web user control added with the designer (in the old version you had to add the control yourself in a placeholder to do this), this allows great encapsulation -- modified at 6:13 Friday 28th October, 2005

I haven't explained which direction we go in. The backup operation is a scheduled task which runs on the machine which is to be backed up. It pushes the output to a UNC path (\\developerspc\Backups\.bkf for the differentials, \\developerspc\Backup Disk\Weekly.bkf for the weekly full backups). This works fine as long as the account under which the scheduled task has write access to that share. We have an Active Directory domain (Windows Server 2003) so it was pretty easy to set up the ACLs on the directories appropriately. Stability. What an interesting concept. -- Chris Maunder

It's not visible. I have checked my motherboard CD for SATA control drivers, but there don't seem to be any other than some RAID drivers. I also have the additional problem of not having a floppy drive to install 3rd Party drivers with. When will driver manufacturers join the Optical revolution? /jason

Lol, reminds me of the classic "You are on day 640 of your 30 day Paint Shop Pro trial" message I've seen all over the place. I wonder if they ever got that fixed with newer version. I use a nifty little tool called Desktop Resetter (I keep icons on my desktop, but need them to be organised across all the desktop by task and/or project, so loosing the arangement was setting me back half an hour while I carefully moved them back). The license lets you use it 20 times then you have to pay £5 to get a license. I tried once after a couple of months of having it save my life only to find the system kept timing out. I haven't bothered again since then. My number of uses is so large now it doesn't fit in the label control. I should write a program that looks out for the nagscreen, enables the continue button and clicks it... Too much effort though, I'll leave it a few more months then see if the registration service is working again. Jason! We can not modify the server controls to render anchor elements. The rendering process will be done by ASP.NET as how the server controls are developed to render. What we should check is the equivalent HTML control for all the server controls after rendering. Then we can program to make the rendered HTML controls interactive by adding attributes in the code behind file. Try developing a small Custom control, so that you will be clear how the server controls work. Some good examples are provided in Online MSDN. And this is how Attributes are added to the Server controls in the code behind file: ControlName.Attributes.Add("AttributeName","AttributeValue"); Happy Programming! :) Subrahmanyam.
