Can anyone tell me how to either suppress the name output by asp.net or change it from thc _ctl1:repeatername:controlname syntax. I have to do this because we have some javascript that looks at the array of dropdownlists within the repeater. And they should all have the same to do that. I haven't found anyway to change this property.

There are fallacies in your argument. You assume that a company can get the same quality of work done in the US as in China or India. You assume that the work done by a 110K worker in Palo Alto is the same as a 2k worker in Bangkok, and I have heard other managers state this, but, I have know many horror stories for companies who got involved in offshore development ranging from broken contracts in the middle of projects to theft of intellectual property. Many of the best programmers in those countries leave for other countries because of their skills. We will see in the future if software engineering becomes a commodity like manufacturing that can be done anywhere in the world or if this model doesn't work in this field.

How does everyone here see offshore development affecting programmer's livelihood in the US and other countries. I am worried that many jobs will be lost to other countries because of wage differences. What is the answer here? Should we be concerned? What actions can we take?

How can you Invoke a method on an IDispatch if the type is a structure or isn't an automation type? What is the vt param to describe this? My understanding is that these type of operations aren't possible through IDispatch and scripting.
