It cannot be worse than a situation I had: in the cubicle on my left, there was a guy who is deaf since his birth and every sound he made was amplified because he did not realize it was so loud (coughing and retching, for instance). On the other hand, when he went to take a shit, we would all gather next to the toilets door and laugh our asses off, because the guy was pushing hard and it was like GNGNGNGNGNGNNNNNNN, but very loud. :-D In the cubicle on my right, there was a guy with Tourette syndrome. I essentially spent my days with my earphone on. I'm trying to understand what your code is trying to achieve. As far as I can work out, the following would do the same: UPDATE Shop SET Ranking = 2 WHERE CategoryID in ( SELECT B.CategoryID FROM Shop A INNER JOIN ShopGroup B ON A.CategoryID = B.CategoryID WHERE A.ProductName = @pProdName ) Is this any faster? How many rows does it update? What is the purpose of linking to "ShopGroup"? The next step would probably to look at the indexes. Regards Andy

A slight page redesign may be needed to fit the elements into the screen real estate though. :) But I feel the effort would be worthy investigating considering the seamlessly familiar user experience and also the minimum learning curve involved for a newbie. :) Weighing the pros of the proposal, I feel the suggestion to be an Active Contestant for the 'Feature Request' position.
