Hi Shog9, Thanks for your reply. So... have you come across any conflicts between ReSharper and Visual Assist X? Cheers, Jon

Switching Visual Studio "profiles" -
Switching Visual Studio "profiles"Hello! I have been a C#-only developer in my job for the past couple of years, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. We use the ReShaper add-in, which ROCKS! However, we are now turning our attention to a new project, which is a C++ project. This is great, as I get to exercise my brain in completely different ways ("Header files... ah yes, I remember them... :~"). However, we will be using different add-ins (Visual Assist X,...) and a slightly different set-up in Visual Studio. The project lead has come to the conclusion that there are enough differences between our C# setup and the desired C++ setup, and enough conflicts between the various add-ins that its not really practicable to use the same setup for both development environments. So, here is my question: Is there a clever way of telling Visual Studio 2005 that I want to launch a C# development environment, or a C++ development environment, and so enable this-and-that add-in, and disable this-other add-in? I don't know that I can do this using the "Import and Export Settings Wizard", and ideally I'd like to be able to do this "profile switching" from a command line parameter... Cheers, Jon

Edit the VS 2005 context menu...?Yeah, but we're going to quietly assign a Super 14 team to each add-in, and check the Sports pages each Monday morning to see which should get preference...

Edit the VS 2005 context menu...?So, with using VSS, Resharper, a couple of other add-ins, the context menu has grown to be pretty big. Almost takes up the whole screen height... which is a bit ridiculous... Is there any tool that allows the context menu to be edited and/or restructured? It'd be useful to hive off the VSS commands into their own separate sub-menu, for example. Any suggestions? Cheers, Jon

That's the first time anyone has said that to me as being the reason why large atoms are unstable. But it makes so much sense... Cheers, Jon

Hmm. Yes, there is certainly reams of documentation available on MSDN, but I wouldn't necessarily say it was good and consistent... ;) Jon

Need new MP3 Player and MonitorWhat about the new Zen V Plus[^], which comes in an 8GB version. (This is a flash device, not a micro HDD device). It's got a colour OLED display and an FM radio. Or there's the Zen Neeon 2[^].. .which looks pretty good too... Jon
