Something is not right...I'm curious what is the scheme of this type of scam? I'm like: OK, this is my IBAN account number, send me the money and I'll TOTALLY give you back 60% in cash :D . Probably, I miss some detail as usual...

SQLLite manager?I usually use SQLite Manager FireFox addon. So far I have encountered problem, when I wanted to import multiple 100 MB big CSV files, then I had to use command line :) .

Annoying, family IT guy responsibilitiesI liked that effect. Sometimes I just waited a bit, before I clicked on shutdown, just to see it. But I'm easy to entertain :) .

It eventually happened ... I lost some dataI couldn't find such directory in the destination (I've also checked for hidden and system files) and after googling (and binging) it I could only find results related to GoodSync and I used robocopy. So, probably I'm out of luck, but I appreciated your comment. For some folk might be life saver :) .

It eventually happened ... I lost some dataWait, I can't show you what I don't have :D In this case I ended up with non-monotonous timestamps ( Screenshots (1) - (299) are newer than Screenshot (300))

It eventually happened ... I lost some dataYou're right, I have to do something. I've never done restructuring of my data, so I have couple of external hard drives , which contents are partially copied to others (really awful attempt of backup). So, it's worse than you might think... :) I really appreciated your comment, I got extra inspiration to clean up my messy pile of data and do a proper backup scheme :)

It eventually happened ... I lost some dataFunny thing, it happened while I wanted to create backup of my data. I wanted to backup my screenshot folder with robocopy script. Destination folder also contained some older screenshots. What I forgot about, that since the last backup I reinstalled my notebook and to save some space I didn't restore the Screenshots folder. That was stupid from me, now I had newer screenshots with the same filenames, which meant robocopy rewrote them all. To be honest, this was not some super critical data, that why I was OK to have it at one place. So, maybe it was a fair price to learn for ever, that I have to be really careful with robocopy even when I'm not using the /MIR option.

Still too modern. It has Windows Update, too. I would try Windows 95 or NT 4.0 if you need that NT kernel :).

Implementing common control library for both the WPF and UWP version of an applicationThank you for the reply! Then I guess, I wanted to create a monster with platform specific code (the UI controls) for two frameworks in common source files. I have already used PCL, that's why I thought it would be nice to have something similar for UI, too. Also, since my post I found other issues, like the missing
FrameworkPropertyMetadata
from UWP and more restricted attached property accessors. So, it seems, that I couldn't save anyway as much code-rewriting as I wanted :( . -
Implementing common control library for both the WPF and UWP version of an applicationHello, this might not be a real question, more like an interest about, how bad my current workaround is. I hope it's OK to post here :) . I have an application which I have started developing for WPF and now I also want to port it to UWP. I have created some custom visual controls for the app in a Controls library, which is a Class Library in C# and references .Net WPF libraries. Some custom panels would look very similar with code working in both frameworks, so I thought it would be nice to reuse my old code. This is the solution I came up and currently porting the library to: - left the original Controls class library project untouched - created a Controls.UWP class library for UWP platform - added source files from Controls to Controls.UWP as linked files - finally - and currently working on - resolving the namespace changes by adding stuff like this at the beginning of source files:
#if WINDOWS_UWP
using Windows.Foundation;
#else
using System.Windows;
#endifHowever, in some cases I must completely rewrite the class eg. because I used OnRender function to draw it, so now I have to rewrite it to use Win2D. For this reason I don't know if it's worth bother with #if statements. What do you think, is this a bad idea?

Today's night news was really depressive...Yes, it was that unfortunate school trip. :( A weird coincidence, that approx. a month ago I saw a burnt out bus in real life, but there were no casualties at that accident. These good souls weren't so lucky :(

Today's night news was really depressive...It contained more than 20 minute coverage of a bus accident with 16 dead, after this 1 lethal car accident, Indian train crash, Chinese bus' close call with a mud slide, Chinese demolition record, more coverage of the bus accident and a little Trump news at the end... I know, that television news "likes" accident, but this time they didn't have to try hard, because life made sure, they have content to work with.

1 pound noteI don't think it's the cost. Banknotes are relatively cheap to produce (smaller nominal values can have less fancy protection). I think it's more likely due to the inflation. Less valuable coins became more useless and they needed something to throw into parking and vending machines. Actually, I have no clue and I think I have never pound in my hands ever, but it's a fun thread.

UK has fastest mobile internet while US lags behind, says reportActually, I don't care about speed on mobile networks anymore. For me HSDPA is more than enough - although I think LTE is cool, but not for the speed. What I am more concerned about is the small data plans. It's cool to have 150Mbps mobile connection, but it's useless, when you can burn all of available data in minutes.
