By that definition everthing I have ever coded would have been a hack. I am never fully satisfied with anything I have ever written. There is always room for improvements. Yeah and they also have problems setting the correct access rights for their directories. On my W2k machine a normal user account has per default not sufficent access rights for the auto update to work. If I as admin updated the virus definition and looged into as a normal user after that, McAfee reported no virus definition present. After I changed to full access for all users, everything started to work again. If auto update has only read access it should be disabled, but the engine should still be able to work. If something different is required, than the needed access rights should be set during installation. Sorry for the long post, but I also had my share of McAffee anoyances. Yeah SharpDevelop has already gone a long way. Are you already on version 0.89 ? They reintroduced the folding editor which is a great thing. Are you also using the Magic Library for the GUI ? It's the BCG of NET. I am browsing through the SharpDevelop code at the moment and get new ideas every minute. BTW: The persons who have started SharpDevelop must have faced the same problem. Why are you so harsh about it ? I think it's a good move from MS to give us some inside views. I have already looked into it a little bit and I am sure the poeple at the mono project jumped on it. No process can overcome bad management. It does help to have a defined process to give guidelines. But defining what documents should be delivered at what stage of the software project does not solve the more basic problems of requirement gathering. I also tried with February Platform SDK CD's, but no luck until know. I have alrey IE6, but even then it is not working. During the install process it tells something about missing files, but they are there. Moved the whole to a directory, but still no luck. The last PSDK installed sucessfully is the August Version. They have an Internet upgrade version, which is also not working. Is it so difficult for MS to create a decent working setup . This whole DHTML GUI for the installation sucks big time :mad: I hope they will come to their senses and use a normal MSI setup next time. This can't be the future. If you consider weather conditions, they are not comparable also. With wind from the back you run faster, with more wind even more faster.
