Sure, but I want the standard behavior which displays the "no drop" icon (like a stop sign or something) when drop isn't allowed (meaning DragEffect is set to None). This works fine in windows forms and is even documented in WPF but for some reason doesn't work. No, the MS Document Explorer from VS2008 is not part of VS2010 and the help format is incompatible. There is a VS2010 extension[^] which adds an index search in to the IDE. The term "cast" is used to mean two different things, one of which is more like "convert". When an int is "cast" to decimal it gets converted. The is operator doesn't work with that type of cast.
