This is often a difficult situation, but having two or more separate threads leads to a very fragmented site/knowledge base so pick the most suitable location for your question and leave it at that. If, after a few days or more, it hasn't been answered (if it has then don't do this!) then by all means post in the other forum making it clear why you are cross posting and linking to the original thread so discussion can continue in the original location. I have not done this from a web app, but you can use the ProcessStartInfo class and the Process class in code behind to open local processes (and send it command args). Have a look at ProcessStartInfo[^] on MSDN.

Well I think no matter what you are not going to be able to stop very motivated repeat voters. Even major democractic elections using physical voting machines and verified official IDs still run into voter fraud and they've been doing it for years! However there are probably measures you can take to stem fraud to a minimum. Your first task is to make sure scripts can't vote, only people...so definitely use a CAPTCHA. Also have the user enter an email address with a unique link embedded inside, so they need to check their email and click on a link to make the vote count. This wont stop people with multiple emails voting, but you could also look into doing some simple data mining after the vote takes place to notice any glaring issues...like if there are 10 votes in 10 minutes from the same IP. Another critical note: whatever this voting system is going to elect, it better not be important! Because if it is, someone motivated enough will probably be able to crack, or at least bias, whatever system you have in place. Good luck!

I think that facebook is the best example of displaying other sites' contents with no permission at all, you can post any webpage to your profile and facebook will display a portion of it + a link, and it displays a picture if available but nobody has ever complained, and it is well known that facebook is a well-respected site that does follow copyright laws. Thats exactly what I did, I changed the MIME type to text/html in the custom http handler but when I created a test page with tag I could only see a bad image. no html data was displayed on the page. Hi as I wrote in the question, although the request is an image request, the response is "text/html" response, I am not sending any image files. The text will display correctly only if the encoding I use in the response matches the encoding of the web-page that receives the html response.
