Xenia seems to be a tornado magnet! Where I live in Oregon, we have wimpy thunderstorms compared to out there. My mother would call and say they had such a huge storm, and I had to laugh because there was no comparison with the storms out there in Ohio. The number of times I got up at 3:00 in the morning to sit in front of the TV watching the storm cells pass by. But hey, I am a lightning bug, I loved it, as long as it did not try to relocate us ;) The last year we where there we had a "storm wall". It was a wierd looking sorm that looked a lot like a black wall moving toward you. Was cool, but spooking looking. The only other thing I seen storm wise out here in Oregon is a lightning ball. I was up on one of our mountain sides over looking the city with my trusty old Nikon FE taking pictures of the passing lightning storm. I got a few decent shots and went to reload my camera... Yep as the back was open and film going in, I saw a flash look like it hit a mountian top on the other side of the city and then sat there like a ball shining out over the city for must have been 5-10 seconds. Was an incredible sight, but of course I was standing their with my camera open, loading film. Glad we are now in a digital age! Sure was a cool sight!
