Hi Hi, From what I see from OriginalGriff's response (and the original query) he is correct. As long as the receiving end is expecting an image in the stream being sent then all should be rendered okay. I've personally used this technique on a few occasions and it worked quite nicely. Having said that, I also see the point you are making and I believe that some kind of error checking or (what I prefer using) handshake response/acknowledge to ensure that what data is being streamed is what is to be expected and will therefore be implemented properly. Just me two cents :),

Hi Hi, As mentioned by Eddy, a good place (if you just want to learn and play around with Delphi - or more specifically Pascal) to look at would be Lazarus, which uses FreePascal. It will get you on the right path and has the added benefit of being cross-platform as well.. Hope that helps :)

Hi, Sorry about the delay, but better late than never I guess ... hehehe... As mentioned by smags, there are several free and commercial barcode printing solutions. Another one that you might want to look at is the one that comes with tpsystools and is available here[^] Plus you get the added benefit of getting some really cool tools with it as well. I must admit that I have not used the barcode components that come with it, but I have implemented most of the utilities/classes that come with the package. And it's free!!! :)

If you are building the project on your Win7 box, make sure that you are running Delphi as administrator. I had issues before with the security features in Win7 that gave me endless hassles until I did that. Hope that helps m8

As far as I know, for products like VS it is a per user license. So technically you can install it on other machines as long as it is only you who is using it... Of course, I deny all knowledge of this message if BSA smashes down your door and fines you for millions and millions of "insert your favourite currency here"... :P

Glad to hear that your problem has been resolved. You can 'force' a thread to terminate using a few techniques. One which I found that works quite well is enabling your thread to listen for a custom message. Once it receives that message the thread can then call the terminate process (and perform whatever cleanups it needs of course). Hope that helps :)

Has it really been that long?!?!?!?! It also means that now I am an old fart... considering I was coding in TP7 then D1, D3, D5, D7, D2006 (is anyone noticing a pattern here? :| )... *buys a walking stick* btw... smags... I am very close to finishing my next article... It's taking me longer to write considering I have a deadline type thing going at the moment with work, but I hope you (and the rest of the community) will like it when I post it... The reason why I am asking if you are using your own threads is you can send a message to all your threads to terminate when you get that exception from TWebModule. Just so you know the module will stop. If you need any pointers on how you would need to do that, let me know.

Hi Corinna, As you suggest, it definitely sounds to me like there is some kind of resource and/or thread blocking happening, and those are not exactly the nicest to try figure out. Although your code/threads may not be responsible/guilty of the blocking, it is unfortunately something that can become a much bigger problem later on :(. Are you executing any other (custom or not) threads as well?
