If you're using MsSql Management Studio, there should be a "Close open connections" check box in the drop dialog. That works for me. Note: I use Sql Server 2008, not sure if that option is available in older versions.

Yes, I've had the same issue. At first I thought I wasn't disposing all of my DbContext instances properly, but in the end I concluded that it's probably just the ADO.NET connection pooling. You have to delete the database manually :(

Yeah, I remember being annoyed by this one a couple of years back. In fact, I was so annoyed that I sat down and played it for two hours straight. By then it became so easy to beat it that I could do it 3 times in a row :D

I used to use a virtual machine with linux on it as a router for a while when the network on my vista machine went bust and I didn't have time to reinstall vista. I configured iptables directly and it was pretty messy. I did try a few of those packages where you write a configuration in an easier format and the software generates iptables rules but didn't really like either of them too much. From what I see monowall has a web gui so it might be more user friendly that ipf. Good luck :)
