I'm a minimalist and I personally believe that microsoft's products have made progress toward using up more memory for a lot of useless features. I have a little conspiracy theory wherein microsoft (and possibly others) is being paid by hardware manufacturers to produce more and more cpu and ram hogging software so that people will be forced to keep buying new hardware and keep the wheels of the industry spinning. Conspiracy!

having a monopoly on almost the entire software industry means they have a monopoly on all the bugs in that software too. It's a two-edged sword. p.s. intermittent hardware problems are usually caused by loose wiring or slightly cracked solders. A rule of thumb is if it responds to getting smacked then it's probably something loose.

good point. Ok I will never tell a joke around here again that has anything to do with sex. Censorship prevails on codeproject. But I'm still up in arms about the tv. :)

Well I think that to give one's self a name is the ultimate form of self expression. Just think: if you boiled yourself down to just a few syllables what would they be? p.s. oinka is short for masta oinka. I named myself that because I'm the big pig. That's what's left if you boil me down. (that and some tender & tasty pork chops) oh yeah... with the applesauce... oh yeah... mmm baby

after all the major theme in the matrix is sensation and perception. So are you saying that your seemingly normal name is "just another system of control"? :)

call themselves stupid names? I see it all the time.

did you ever notice that they go by their hacker names once they're liberated from the matrix? And they all chose cool names for themselves like "switch" and "apoc" and "cypher". If the movie were true to life, the hacker names would be more stupid like "captain poopie pants" or "blood fart" or something... like real internet names you see. Of course it's just a movie and it's not supposed to be true to life but I just can't help but notice those things sometimes. And what's with all you people on this board who use your real name - don't you know that the matrix cannot tell you who you are?

small penis jokes are tame enough these days. Censorship has gone to the dogs. TV is a prime example. I don't need to rent porn anymore, it's on TV after midnight. And don't tell me parents should keep a better leash on their kids and stop them from accessing mature content. Kids can be very resourceful, if there's inappropriate stuff out there they'll find a way to get at it. I think we need a tighter leash on content, not on viewers. That sounds extreme... all I'm trying to say is there shouldn't be porn on my basic cable TV.

it's me who sucks. And microsoft is much better than borland. I was wrong to lash out at microsoft in my frustration. Please accept my humblest appologies.

  • MICROSOFT YOU SUCK AND I HATE YOU!
    O Oinka

I just wasted three days of my life just trying to get an activex control to work properly off a toolbar (you can see my post in the visual c++ forum if you want details). So yeah, I just had to let off some steam at microsoft for that. Granted, I'm new at visual C++ and you have to expect that your first few projects will be hell while you are still trying to figure stuff out, but I never had this much trouble learning a borland product. Their documentation is way better and their whole programming philosophy is just more intuitive and easier to understand. If only I could find a job developing with c++ builder. That'd be nice. But alas, no such jobs exist (I'm sure they do but I've never heard of such a job in my area) Microsoft SUCKS! wanna fight about it? click me[^]
