what is the fascination with Python ? ( CAUTION semi-programming rant )Python is popular because - it is user-friendly: tab vs. space is matter of life and death, case sensitive, uses == as 'equal' - it is finance-friendly: no fixed-point datatype

my printer sent me a message "cartridge rans out of paper"Ummm, are you feel yourself good? "cartridge rans out of paper" sure was not the message, neither "cartridge out of ink" - a laser printer would mention toner. But flipping a page over my fears stemming from a mom with epilepsy mixing words with words almost the same meaning at the start of the seizure maybe your new toner is faulty or counterfeit - contact the seller.

Why corporate IT must be destroyedLong time Outlook (new) user here. Yeah, it is simplified. But at least quick and it displays HTML mails and does not route you to IE 11 to show them. - The folder list is not even alphabetically ordered but Favorites is your place to arrange - Links: definitively working for me. Corporate IT thing? - You can edit the link just like in for ex. Excel, select it and press the same button you have used to add it, the same edit box will appear pre-filled with previous data - It is a Windows 8+ style modern application, it runs in the background. I get new mail notifications without running it, sometimes more than I would like to get. Search it in the applications and services list, click once, choose Special settings and will see it. If not, then Corporate IT thing? All places backtranslated from Hungarian so maybe worded a bit different in the English Outlook/Windows settings.

Which RDBMS?Quote:
When I write a View2 that uses a View1, if View1 is ever updated, View2 does not see the update until I ALTER (with no changes needed) View2.
Do you mean if it is created without [schemabinding](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/t-sql/statements/create-view-transact-sql?view=sql-server-ver16#schemabinding)? Postgresql was different, there it was the default. Oh the joys of cascade dropping and recreating views and functions ... (Firebird 1.5 is the same) Oracle is [wise](https://forums.oracle.com/ords/apexds/post/schema-bound-view-9059) . Creating views on views therefore considered a bad practice.

Windows 8 vs. Windows 10 resource requirementsQuote:
My personal observation is that Windows 10 is slower than Windows 8 on the same hardware. My observation (completely unscientific) is that Windows 10 is slower on the same hardware as compared to when it was first released.
That's true and more striking if we compare beta versus release. The many security thing turned on makes it much slower. Especially Intel, I have an Acer Atom tablet that was slow but decent, then left behind without updates (maybe without Creators Update?) then updated again and slow as a mother louse pregnant with twelve babies during Windows 10.

Stories Behind the Tech:PowerShellIs sha256sum a Bash internal command or something you have to install? If the latter, you can do it in Windows without piping and installing anything, and more: [Windows: MD5/SHA256 CheckSum - Built-In Utility - ShellHacks](https://www.shellhacks.com/windows-md5-sha256-checksum-built-in-utility/)

The term engineer - it's getting a little loose....No one seems to know what a Senior Fireall Engineer is, so, maybe, they are elves.

User interfaces from he!!BMW likes to put the battery to the trunk for better handling of the car (50-50% weight on axles). Sometimes one battery is not enough for even an ICE only car.

Be careful how you turn off your PCBeware the [Fast Startup](https://www.windowscentral.com/software-apps/windows-11/how-to-enable-or-disable-fast-startup-on-windows-11) as it stores the status of the OS drivers (incl. decryption keys) (but not the userland). It hit VeraCrypt, too. It may hit the task scheduler, too.

STOOPID PRINTERHP wasn't keen to update the drivers, too. Fortunately their low-end was language compatible with some higher tiers, so we printed on a LJ1010 on W7 64 bit with first paper in 40 secs, 5 secs pause between pages :~ MS kicked them when they denied drivers for W10, making themselves a few, then HP cached up - 2 years after W10 launch. Looks like the Samsung merger injected HP with some long needed customer service viewpoint.

Microsoft, do you know how many people are complaining?Happens a lot lately with our work laptops. They want to talk to the AD long before the VPN is available. Putting it into airplane mode before sleeping helps us. Is there any nice security sw installed, like Trend Micro suite? Never happens with my private W10Pro or W11Pro. Swipe to unlock is there since ages. Swipe, double click or press a key.
