Hi, Is there a limit to the number of rows (amount of data) a datagrid can display in a datagrid? Is there any internal optimization in the datagrid which fetches data from the dataset only for those rows which are visible to the user? ( I saw someone say so in a NG) Is there a limit similarly for datasets? ( I have read now and again it's only limited by the client's systems' memory...but wanted to make sure :) ) I am concerned since i need to display ALL the data (around 10K records). Thanks Rakesh

ADO.NET: Is it possible to create a dataset out of a view?I have a dataset displayed in a particular view with some sorting. For some specific reasons I want to create a new dataset from this dataview so that the new dataset will have it's rows in actual physical sorted sequence just as in the view. How do i do it? One solution will be to iterate through the view's rows and create a new dataset of your own in the same sequence within a foreach loop. But I feel it's not that 'graceful'. Rakesh

remainderYep. That's exactly what he meant. % is a remainder operator in C#, just like / is for division. Rakesh Rakesh

High Tech RescueWhat i meant was you won't be able to use the camera flash to create fire. (though u could use a couple of rocks for both fire and attention) Rakesh

High Tech RescueAs per the news, they used the camera to attract attention and not to make fire. You still need to: Megan Forbes wrote: bashing two rocks together to make fire :) Rakesh

MS dev centersOpen source is hot @ tamil nadu too especially @ coimbatore. The last MSDN session was in May (or april i think). It seems there are to be no msdn sessions to be held at Trivandrum in the near future. But even so, .NET is getting more adopted by the day :) Tough there indeed are certain advantages in open source, the long term problems are high - as per some article i read recently. I think people need to focus to the long-term benefits rather than what appears at present. Rakesh Rajan

I got a job! But...:)...that was a great encouragement...I am @ US Software, Nila (not sure whether we'd be shifted to Bhavani though). The initial project will fortunately be in C#. C# Winforms using crystal reports or something. And I suppose I could study vb.net side-by-side somehow and get ready if it comes up. Thanks a lot... :) Rakesh Rajan

I got a job! But...I got a .NET based job pals!!! But there is one problem. I am a C# programmer. The company I work get's projects which require us to program in either VB.NET or C#. If it's in VB.NET, I will be having a tough time atleast in the beginning. So how do u suggest I make a move? Are there any C#->VB.NET convertors available? Not that I think it's a good solution...but it might help for some time in the beginning. Warm regards, Rakesh Rajan
