Yes, Michigan. The snow melt feature works well. I am using the out of the box stock router still. I have had Starlink since Feb 2021 and love it.

StarLink User Advice -
StarLink User AdviceI am in a wooded area and have Starlink. I struggled with obstructions when the trees got leaves on them in the spring. I ended up having a 50 foot attached tower installed and put the dish on top. That solved all of my problems with obstructions and such. I love it. I work from home. Bandwidth and latency are awesome. Just like I was at the office. I also stream YouTubeTV on 2 televisions while connected to work. Plenty of bandwidth.

Thank you, MicrosoftYUP! Here is an example. Starts at 1. There are several other numbered fields: Other Provider Identifier Issuer_50

Thank you, MicrosoftI used to think the same thing. I would never build a table with that many columns. But I have run into a few tables along the way that were very wide. NPPES, National Plan and Provider Enumeration System allows the downloading of the NPI database as a csv file. Once a month I download and import this file into SQL for internal application viewing access. The structure is 329 columns/fields by 7 million or so rows. That is a lot of columns!

Do you OneNote?I use it for documentation. I have a suite of network automation tools and I use OneNote as a repository for each project from start to current. You can divide each project page into sections for troubleshooting, program purpose, change history, etc. I link in specific network folders for project files and documents. It is easy to navigate and search.

Making a lateral Move to make a change (withing the same organization) from developer to more of PM-Analyst RoleIt is up to you, but it is not a move that I would make. I made a move from developer to the 'Lead' of developers and all I ended up doing was less coding and more babysitting of other developer projects. To me a PM would be along the same lines, less coding - more babysitting. Just not for me. I went back to my developer role and couldn't be happier. I am 64, so that also plays into my thoughts. Good Luck!

what would you like to be expert at?Fishing! I am 63 years old and the last time I caught a fish was in 1996. Before that lots of trying but nothing. This year I have purchased a Sea Eagle STS10 inflatable fishing boat with trolling motor, a nice fish finder, a couple of poles, and some lures/bait. I live in Michigan and we have a lot of inland lakes for small fish like Bass, Bluegills, Crappie, etc. I built a 100 amp hour Lithium Iron Phosphate battery for my trolling motor and fish finder. I have been watching YouTube fishing videos all winter. I am ready to catch fish (and mostly release). Hurry up warm weather!

What is the status of report generation these days?I find Developer Express Reporting XtraReporting to meet all my needs and more. Has a user configurable mode so users can customize and save their own versions. Has a report server. Powerful designer. Worth a look. Not cheap but good tools are worth it.

Recommendation on a corporation wide password managerWe use one to share service account passwords between developers and system admins. Service accounts are used in automation processes accessing AD and such.

Deciphering work emailsPeople are so busy that they can't take time to READ emails. You provide someone with detailed instructions and you get a question that is addressed in the first sentence of the email they have supposedly read. I guess that is why we are developers, we know how to deal with the details and they don't. :)

What is your C64?1981 - My first was a VIC 20. 3K of RAM for code after booting. Cassette tape drive (no floppies yet). Added a 170K single sided floppy drive and a 16K memory expansion. This started it all. Many hours with the manual figuring it out. I still have this and all the games. Then I graduated to a C64 - still have 3 of these. From there it was an X86, 286, 386, 486, etc. . . . and here I am 38 years later . . ready to retire in a couple of years after a nice career in IT and development.
