I use three, a desktop with multiple screens, a laptop (asus game republic) which has 16gb and dual SSD disk with 1920x108 screen and a surface pro 128 (same res screen).The surface Pro can plug into a HD monitor. You want either Windows 8 or Ubuntu. I am not sure you are defined on what you want to develop. your price range is really looking at the lower range machine in what I would not consider development machines.

We use MSDN Premium with MSDN, every developer has a copy. I not only gives us VS2010, but all of the OS's including server, SQl server, Office, Visio, Project and a whole other bunch of product. What we pay for it is cheap if you add up the costs of the individual products.

LOL Welcome to my world. I use Visual Studio 2010, though any version will work. Debugging has alway been a pain, I suggest making sure that IIS is configured so you can see client side errors. Most of the time when the page errors you get nothing, the trick is delete everything in the page except a single letter refresh the page (to see the letter) then put the code back and refresh. No, it means that the drawing is not truly 30, 60 and 90. Having been a draftsperson in a former life, the advent of CAD vs. hand drawing improved the accuracy. The plastic drafting triangles are approximate, very close, but never 30.00000000000000000, 60.00000000000000000 or 90.00000000000000000 degrees. You could also state, that the sum of the angles in radians is pi. I spend years developing software for AutoCAD that created parametric parts, and I find the concept of using radians for these calculations easier.

No this movie is not suitable for someone that young. As someone who enjoys movies, I do find it offensive that parents do bring young children to the theater, for age in appropriate movies. Watching Avatar (11pm showing) with a screaming 4 year old kid one idle down was not fun. They stopped the showing and had to ask them to leave. Up where I live, a local theater has a special Sunday showing for parents and kids, designed for introducing children to the movie experience. You might want to seek them out. The Lawrence Hall of Science started making accelerator trees paper weight back in the 70's. They were round 2" Lucite rods 6 inches tall. They were made at the Lawrence National Lab, Berkeley. A grad student would load the rods at the end of the accelerator between tests; the particle would crash into the road fracturing the Lucite. I think Logo or Turtle was the language used to teach children programmimng. That what was used when I was working at LHS at Berkeley during the mid 70's. Monitor size is only one component of the question, also what resoloution. I run 2048x1536 on 21". I have bought other 21" monitors for the group, one of my group likes to use it at 1024x768. I suggested glasses. I also run 1920x1200 on my dell laptop. I still want higher resoloution....

Yeppers time to get a new computer, however management got a good deal on on of those AMD tri core machines, you know the AMD Quad Core chip with one dead core. You can rewrite the code right to work in 1,2, 3 or 4 cores.., oh it also has to be Window ME compatatble. RC
